Don't know about Wallaby, but Wazzup and I enjoyed a nice dinner at House of Blues earlier this week.

I'm doing the GTRI thing this summer and living back in the Smith-like wonderfulness of CCF for cheapness.

Gah been battling with my internet connection all weekend, waiting for tech to come out tomorrow (it's in the outside line...)
Kurtis, I need a translation!
Zazu, I'm envious you got to meet Wazz! I don't have to be envious of her meeting you cause I've done that :~)
Hitting send and hoping it goes through before I get thrown off the 'net again *grumble, AT&T, grumble, gripe...*

The infamous "outside line." Could be AC induction, pair got wet, stat mux has issues, somebody else got added to your line, heat coils dirty in CO, carbon elements in protector are grounded. etc.

Mini translation (based on my understanding of at least part - it's all GTSpeak):
GTRI - Georgia Tech Research Institute Kurt will have to fill you in on what he's doning there. I put in a couple of summers at the facility out in Powder Springs GA (NW of Atlanta) as a secretary. Got a top secret security clearance out of so I could type and file.
Smith-like wonderfulness - I think this is a dorm. I only did the dorms for 2 quarters and had to bail. They were just too loud.

Got laid off again in February, still looking for a day job, but my theater nights are hoppin. Just finished ASMing a production of "1776" and about to start Stage Managing a production of "Cinderella" in a couple days.

I have an irrational love for "1776." Was it a good production?

It was! Things were dodgy in the run up. Martha couldn't breath in her rental dress, and they had to re-make Franklin's coat so he could move his arms... the turntable with Jefferson's house on it kept breaking down, the gels weren't ordered in time for lights, and "But Mr. Adams" sounded awful due to Livingston providing the most dissonant possible notes in every chord.
But in the end everything came together... well... except Livingston, but at least he was down an octave by that point, so sound was able to make something of it.

I 'hate' when that happens. :(

A couple of them only happen when it rains. That means the repair tech (use to be me) is gonna wet while hanging on a telephone pole.
Everyone has heard of Alexander Graham Bell but has anyone ever heard of Alexander Graham Bellofski? He was the first telephone Pole.
