UMM, since my graduate degree is in forensics,

I can't stand watching those shows...

the little bit of truth in them totally screws it up for those of us that utilize those techniques and services.

(and yes, it is called the "CSI EFFECT")

Having my degree in Computer Science I laugh at a lot of the programs they use to work with images and videos. They always have these weird effects that would never be put in or are doing things that won't ever be done...such as a fade effect when you delete a file that you have open.

Or when they zoom in on a frame of a video, and get a super clear close up of something that would be pixelated?

My brother is a chemist and uses a lot of the same type of machines. He hates when they show anything with the machines because either the machines are actually turned off at the time or, of course, it takes 2 seconds for something to pop out that would take hours and hours in a real lab.
Then again, those machines must be as speedy fancy as the laser jets they use to make an 8 hour plane ride from Miami to Rio take 10 seconds.

And let's not even get started on the idea that CSI people are the 1st on site and also run interviews instead of the police and detectives or that they only drive Hummers. I lived in Miami. I know what they drive there. And it is NOT always freaking sunrise or sunset!
