I'm hoping the wait was worthwhile because some dumb ass did something stupid and got escorted off.
Last year on Gay Day, they loaded too many bears into the front rows of the boat in front of us, and it got stuck at the top of the drop. A barrier popped up in the water to stop our boat before we reached the stuck one. We were then stopped there for at least 5 minutes before a CM arrived on-scene.

After he realized what had happened, he had the Guests in the stuck boat do all sorts of coordinated moves. First he tried arms-up-and-rock-side-to-side. But then he was successful with the "storm the castle" technique: a count of "1-2-3-HAAAA!!!!" and on "HAAAA" everyone threw their weight forward in their seat. Inch by inch, they slowly scooted the boat over the edge of the drop. :D:

All in all, that was probably a 15-minute downtime.

When the CM was finished I led the other guests in an enthusiastic round of "Cast Member Appreciation" Applause :)
Back when I was at small world, if we had some sort of "spill" in a boat, we'd get a Custodial CM in the boat alone and send it out. They'd clean it up going though, and we wouldn't have to stop the line or the ride.

I was always SO grateful to the custodial cms in times like that. I have a hard time dealing with the protein spill type stuff.

Yeah. A few years back, Purpie and I went to the holiday party, and were stuck in the Jail scene for half an hour when the ride went 101 with lift problems. To this day, we always whistle to each other or tell each other "'ow about a noice, juicy bone..." as we're entering that scene...

Sorry, I am a little late on this thread. How about 9-23-10. Why was the Monorail on a late start, and slow all day long?

Late one night at DL we did the exact same thing. The CM loaded the front of the boat with a few large guests, myself included. Stopped at the lift, a few boats hit us and nothing happened. Finally a work light came on and they took us out of the boat, through some backstage areas (with looks from the kitchen staff of Blue Bayou), back through the exit and then distributed ALL of us throughout the boat. I think it ended up with everyone getting their own row.

OMG, I just realized something... the people from the other board might be onto something... the monorail is ghetto now.

Had the very same thing happen to us last May. The front seat was packed (overloaded) with some very large people and we got stuck in the same place. We tried the coordinated moves but we didn't budge. The CMs came in with flashlights and all the water was drained and the canal refilled twice, but no go. Tried the coordinated moves again and finally inched our way over the peak and away we went! However, there was no audio for the rest of the ride so we all sang the pirate song while we drifted along. Good fun!

Yeah..NO.

It always may *seem like* 3 hours or days or a milennia....but reality, not even close.

And NO, you cannot know why.

Have a Disney Day!
