Stupid Guest Tricks

At some point we, as a society, need to stop mistreating people in the service industry. While this guy's actions weren't very smart, they're understandable when someone's put under constant stress and abuse like this.

I would've replied, "Funny, I was just thinking the same thing about YOUR mother!" :twisted:

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if an all-out revolt from abused service industry employees burst out any day now....

I think our friend at JetBlue kind of says that people are starting to reach their limits. It won't be pretty.

There are days when I agree with this statement. Sad thing is, because of his genetic background, my poor hubby probably would have been denied! lol

While I can certainly empathize with how he felt (hey, we've all been there. I had a guest grab my hair while I was on the lift of my ride the other day), he did cross a huge line. It is never okay to pull that kind of stunt. Snapping at a guest is one thing, but grabbing alcohol and sliding down a chute which is a huge safety violation is quite another. And even when you snap, it is never okay to use expletives. I know it sucks, but this is the job I signed up for. I knew going into it that it wasn't going to be all roses kittens, that I would have to suffer some abuse from my guests- and still have that great guest service. I'm not saying that people should get away with abusing us (I have been known to call security more than once), but we should be able to control ourselves.

Agreed. You need to have self-composure. You can't just fly off the handle like that. It looks bad, no matter what place you work at.

Jimmy Kimmel had a "Sliding the Ramp" skit last night......
Employees dressed in uniforms would climb inflatable slide,grab two beers and
yell whatever to their customers as they slid down into a small pool. :D:
