Ahhh...Bacon!!! (can't wait unil Sunday morning....hubby makes almost a whole pack just for me)
We just went to DC last weekend and saw the Phillies and Nationals. I was really hoping to see Strausburg pitch, but he had hurt himself earlier in the week. Stadium is nice, but nothing compared to ours in Philly. (and, oh yeah, Lady Siren, my Pop Pop raised me to be a Blue Devils fan....yet another rivalry in our household!).
Also: I do not like the Cone of Shame! :cone:

Come on now, we've got football season first. You'll get a chance to see my Yellow Jackets come after your tar heels on 9/18 up there in Chapel Hill.LadySiren wrote:What is wrong with y'all? Go... wait a minute. We don't have any pro teams. Go Lunas!
Hapless mindliness?
Hapless mindliness?

Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

Re: Mindless Happiness?
Wait.... not mindless happiness, but back to baseball for a moment...
I went to a MLB game on Wednesday and was supposed to have $10 of credit on my ticket to purchase food. I went to the BBQ stand and the employee had trouble scanning my ticket and then told me it was no good. She was surprised that I was willing to pay cash for my food instead of walking away and her manager told me to go to the team office.
So skipping a few steps of how a found a ticket manager...
The food I purchased was from a licensee and not from the stadium's food vendor and the system showed that the $10 had been used at that stand, but they could not refund me $10 in cash. They were willing to give me $10 worth of merchandise if I came back in a few innings or... I could take the offer of 2 tickets to a regular home game in what's left of the season. I told the manager that he was being too generous but still took him up on the offer of the tickets.
Why do I kind of feel like I was a SG for taking the more generous offer? Even though there are not that many home games left that I can attend, so he has a greater chance of not having to make good on the offer.
Oh... and... Go Sharks!!!

Don't feel like an SG. By bringing it to the attention of a manager you pointed out a bug in their system, either in the computers or their training of the concessions folks. And I'm sure they were pleased it was you bringing it to their attention, and not a belligerent a&@hole screaming and shouting at the concessions person.techie-13 wrote: Why do I kind of feel like I was a SG for taking the more generous offer? A comp ticket is actually very little cost to the venue, assuming the game is not sold out. It gets issued at 0$ ticket price, so it does not affect the bottom line, its sort of like writing off unsold inventory. It has a much higher value to you than to the venue, and it lets you go home smiling! Its a win win !
