Re: It's Brazilian Tour Group time again...
Monday night was horrendous!!!!!!
It was so bad that non-Brazilian tour group people were leaving Main Street in droves like I've never seen before - and I'm usually there several times a month. They had taken over Main Street from just past the bakery down toward the exit and were chanting, yelling and doing the vuvuzelas so loudly that everybody I could see leaving (we were in the handicapped parade seating in front of the fire station) had their hands over their ears and kids were crying all over the place. The "leaders" with their battery lit flags were egging it on for all they were worth, and the chaperones were off to the side ignoring it.
BTW, if anybody knows the CM who was friends with Snow White in the parade that night, she made my daughter's night! Put a smile on her face that stayed for a long time - amazing for a preteen, LOL! That was some much needed pixie dust, for sure.
I wish Disney would do something about those Brazilians, kind of like they do the kids that go to Grad Nights - something like if you don't behave, you and your tour group get thrown out and don't get to come back for five years or something like that. Probably wouldn't work, since money is involved, though.

Seriously, I thought you weren't allowed to bring noise makers like that into the parks.

These are part of their culture. If you ban them then you are racist or something...GaTechGal wrote:Seriously, I thought you weren't allowed to bring noise makers like that into the parks.

No more so than the co2 powered horns are part of Canadian hockey culture! And if a busload of Canadians were blasting those air horns in the park, I am sure they would be given the special guided tour out of the park in no time flat. Cultural or not !ktulu wrote:These are part of their culture. If you ban them then you are racist or something...
Any noisemakers that grossly intrudes on the enjoyment of the park by most guests not part of that "noisy" group should be prohibited.
Then there is also the safety issue due to the size of the horns.
I would hope anyone annoyed by the horns goes into guest services or better yet emails them, and complains. If enough folks complain, maybe their use can be prohibited in the parks. Every complaint is more amunition for those in charge to use when dropping the axe on the use of the horns.

Umm, yeah we handle the groups that get out of hand. They can be trespassed and evicted just like any other group or individual. Oh, and yes, the group's travel agency is banned from doing business with WDW forever.Ladyfair wrote: I wish Disney would do something about those Brazilians, kind of like they do the kids that go to Grad Nights - something like if you don't behave, you and your tour group get thrown out and don't get to come back for five years or something like that. Yes, money is involved. That applies to Grad Nights, POP Warner Hell, Night of Hell, Brazillians, Mexicans, and individual guests.
Do not even get me started on the 'holier than thou' guests. You want to be xenophobic, racist, or life style challenged, we handle you too.

I was being sarcastic. I live in Texas, not San Francisco :D: We'll shoot whatever noise maker you're using ;) We do love our hockey though!delsdad wrote:No more so than the co2 powered horns are part of Canadian hockey culture! I'm not saying ban the Brazillians, just the horns. Like Dels said, it would seem totally natural to ban air-horns if a bunch of Canadian Hockey Fans turned up with them and started making everyone miserable sounding them off all the time.
If the NCAA can ban "artificial noisemakers" them from College Hockey Rinks, to save the hearing of the Refs and the visiting team, (Sorry... that was totally my Alma Mater's fault) then why should Disney CMs (and non-noisemaker bearing guests) be expected to put up with them?

There are groups up here that try the "its part of our culture" excuse all the time.ktulu wrote:I was being sarcastic. I live in Texas, not San Francisco :D: We'll shoot whatever noise maker you're using ;) We do love our hockey though!
Most often to try and talk their way out of a murder rap for a so called honor killing of a wife or daughter. seems to happen every couple of months.
Then there was a high school kid accused of attempted murder for using a knife, of religious significance to attack a schoolmate. They are allowed to wear the knife in school only if sewn securely into their garments. Otherwise it is considered a concealed weapon, and prohibited in schools. If the knife is ceremonial, why was it razor sharp? Exactly what sort of ceremony were you planning to use it for ?
