There are great merch possibilties in taping the 3 new movies. Think about the JarJar plush!
The plush wouldn't scare me. But what if they choose to make JarJar the next talking, interactive character???

Wait, since when has Body Wars been open again? And with a new projection system? Does this mean that pavilion might have a sponsor again?

Sorry to burst your bubble but the pavilion is still closed. They've been doing the testing of the new Stars Tours systems in the old Body Wars attraction to work out the kinks before they shut down Star Tours. I guess the testers were able to see Body Wars while in there.

Clever and economical!

I know that this thread is a little old, but new info has been releaved since I made this topic and I thought it was worth mentioning.
The new info comes from this link;
http://d23.disney.go.com/articles/06141 ... izons.html
'*The enhanced attraction — featuring multiple destinations — takes place in between the two Star Wars trilogies, which will enable Imagineers to utilize characters from both sets of films.
* While the planet of Tatooine was unveiled as a destination at last year's D23 Expo, Walt Disney Imagineering Senior Show Producer Kathy Rogers announced that the bustling urban environment of Coruscant will be another.
*"There's an incredible number of different variations," explains Al Weiss, President, Worldwide Operations, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. "You will rarely, if ever, see the same show twice. And it's all in 3D."'
The ride will be called "Star Tours: The Adventures Continue".

I'm not in love with the name, but I'm a huge huge Star Wars nerd (I think I have about $3000-$4000 worth of "collectibles"*), and I'm excited for the new attraction.
Though I wonder, there are a few things I had wished they kept. StarSpeeder 3000 will be changed into StarSpeeder 1000 (we're going backwards?), and who knows if we'll have REX anymore (I doubt it because Captain Rex is now a clone in the animated series "The Clone Wars"). I also hope we don't lose too many of the things we have in the queue (the Goose Droids, the busted R5 unit which I'd love to take home, R2 and 3PO arguing up front), but I hope we get a ton of new dialogue for them all. No Jar-Jar AA....PLEASE. No Jar-Jar at all would be ideal.
I'm interested in the 3D aspect, I've too heard rumors its really REALLY good. I heard that Boba Fett might be in it, which will be cool. I know for a fact Hoth is going to be in it.
*By collectibles, I mean toys...lots and lots of toys.

I'm almost positive that 3PO and R2 will still be in the queue. But perhaps as new animatronic figures. As for the G2 (Goose) droids. I'm not sure. I would assume that the animatronics would at least be upgraded.
To be honest, I suspect that the queue will be largely the same in terms of layout. But I guess it all depends on how extensive this "reimagining" will be.
As for Captain Rex. Yes, I have a feeling that he will be replaced by a new droid considering the new ride's time-line and all.
I have to say that in general I am excited for this. The ride has been showing its age lately, and it is not attracting as big of a line as it did in the 90's.
On a side note, Star Tours at Disneyland closes next month; This past weekend I was at the ride and in cabin #2 the screen was shaky and blurry and every movement of the cabin aggravated it. So I reported it and they closed that cabin for the rest of the day.
But there is also something else that I didn't get a chance to report; The last few times I rode in cabin #4 there was a problem. One of Rex's eyes doesn't light up, and the arm on his chest doesn't seem to movie at all. I need to remember to report it when I go later this week.
The point of this is, I know that the ride is closing soon, but I want to see it go out on a high note, with everything working like its supposed to.
