I didn't like EO back when MJ wasn't quite as freaky as he turned out to be. I can think of no reason that I would like it now.

I kind of wish they would remake it, with some up to date stars and of course, the technology has improved just a bit!!

That would be fun. Unfortunately it will probably never happen....
Still, the special effects are not too bad. The spaceship battle scenes are pretty good even for today's standards. (This was back when they actually constructed physical models!)
The film probably would not have been half as cool if they hadn't gotten Lucas and Coppola on board.
I would not like it if they keep Captain EO around forever, but for now its a very nostalgic attraction and I'm glad that its back for a while.
And the Disneyland comeback was clearly very popular, otherwise Disney wouldn't be bothering to bring it to Florida, Tokyo, and Paris.
Once Captain EO leaves Disneyland, I am looking forward to seeing what WDI does with the theater space.

I believe EO is temporarily going into honey I shrunk the audience, then after EO's run is done, whenever that is, then honey will be back. At least, this is my understanding, but I could be wrong, it's happened once or twice, in my life. :)

Yes, they will be removing "Honey I Shrunk the Audience" to make way for Captain EO.

Disneyguy85 wrote:You have never been to Disneyland, Why do you assume that it is necessarily "better" that WDW?
One can look at DL from videos, maps, photos ect never having to visit and tell the WDW is better. WDW has SO MUCH more to offer then DL ever will. DL tried to catch up by building DCA and sticking in things from WDW like ToT, but it's not the same atmosphere at being at DHS.
Disneyguy85 wrote:"DLR is the BETA version of Disney parks." That is just your opinion. Its a known fact that POTC is much better at Disneyland. Therefore, bigger is not necessarily better, Heck, POTC wasn't even at Magic Kingdom when it opened.
POTC BETTER at DL????? Since when???? And no, by definition. DL is the BETA of Disney parks.
Definition of: beta version
A pre-release that is given out to a large group of users to try under real conditions. Beta versions have gone through alpha testing inhouse and are generally fairly close in look, feel and function to the final product; however, design changes often occur as a result.
Disneyguy85 wrote:Walt felt that he had made mistakes in not purchasing enough land for Disneyland. He never called Disneyland a mistake.
In land size, and park design. Among many problems, one most notable is DL had no underground tunnels, resulting in cowboys walking around in Tomorrowland. Walt said the words himself
"Disneyland has too many mistakes. We will make the Florida Project bigger and better."
Shorty82 wrote:DLR makes much better use of their space because of their lack of room. There's a lot of wasted space in WDW partially because their is so much room they don't have to make use of it.
You mean to say DL is cramped and claustrophobic.

Sorry,DL is not cramped and clautrophobic, just more intimate. Is DCA a 'catch-up'? More than likely, trying to keep guests 'on property',so to speak.
Go over to board Y and you'll get quite a few "East Coasters" inquiring about DL vs WDW. One big + is that you don't have to wait 1/2 of your time to get from park to park.

Just a friendly reminder to all:
Opinions are not facts. We all have them, and we all think ours are best. Sometimes, if we explain why we have them, others will change theirs. But not too bloody often.
This forum's Moderators will not take action against a poster because of his opinions, even if they are widely considered to be ill-informed, bigoted, or downright silly, so long as they stop short of attacks on other posters. Let's all try hard to avoid such.
And now, for those who haven't already put me in their Ignore file, back to the discussion already in progress.

I have been to both parks. Both have positives. Both have negatives. There is just something extra-special about Disneyland. Don't knock it until you see it.
And yes, POTC is
way better in California. It's not even a close call.
One more thing -- I've seen all those films, DVDs, etc., with all the interviews and footage, early and modern, about the parks. "We made mistakes" =/= "IS a mistake."
