Stupid. But not hard. And still doesn't explain the picture.
Or, the Guest buckled the belt, sat on it, and got a CM who wasn't doing their job and didn't check the belts.
But I agree, this particular photo was faked.

As for your claim I find it highly unlikely you'd be able to see a penny in the air on the screen or printed in a final photo. My two cents.
Actually it was a dime that my husband dropped. It was at MGM ToT. I have no reason to lie. I could tell that the picture of someone flying up was faked, but our dime was not. Our floating dime was in the picture and we were completely surprised. We were sitting on the front row on TOT and you could see my husband's outstretched hand and the dime floating right beside it. Many people on this site know me (I post as "phamton" elsewhere) and know that I don't make-up stories. In fact one of my great pleasures in life is debunking urban legends. We did not buy the picture as we live in Orlando and never buy the pictures since we are at the parks so much.

This picture is defiantly fake and I love how all the people on it's original website say it is real and how they were there when it happened. I hate people sometimes.

And I hate people all the time. :viking:

If someone pulled the belt out long enough to do that, the ride would sense the belt retracing when the person got out from under the belt and let go, the ride would then shut down.
I would feel safe to bet the TOT is one of the safest rides as far as safety regulations and features.

I have to agree. We went in 08 and I had a balled up piece of paper in my hand for the drop, it too showed up as floating in the photos at the end.

I know Phantom from Board X and have actually met her personally once at Uni so I can vouch that she is credible. It may seem unlikely to see the coin, but she's not the type to make up weird stories.

I stand corrected. Did I mention I can't speak for the florida version?
