On another note--you would not believe how many parents come to parent/teacher conferences and ask me to parent their kids! ex: "Would you tell Johnny he has to go to bed when I say? He'll do what you tell him." "Tell Johnny to pick up his toys. I don't know why he'll clean up at school--he doesn't do it at home."

Uh, yeah, Johnny knows I mean what I say. I expect him to follow directions. Shelves have pictures of what goes on them and if things are not put back correctly, you don't get to "play" until you "fix it."

Another thing that bothers me is the number of parents who don't realize their Pre-K child can read! Twenty-two of my forty students are reading this year and more than half the parents didn't realize it. A couple of them even tried to argue with me until I had them pick out a book for their child to read to them! My kids are so excited to be reading that they drive me nuts (in a good way) reading everything they see (on the way to the playground, going to the library, in the classroom, etc.) How can their parents NOT know?

Mom: Don't you tell my son what to do!

Me, to Mom: Ma'am, please. That gate is a very dangerous place to be sitting.

Mom: That's for me to decide. The worst that could happen is he could fall.

MAJOR FAIL for mom! This attitude should result in an automatic and instant ejection from property. This is outright refusal to follow the safety direction of a cast member. The kid can stay because he showed some initiative and followed your direction to get down. But mom needs to be escorted out by security, and perhaps have a chat with child services.
Note that I did not capitalize mom. She doesn't deserve any capital letters !

Nope, kid can't stay either. The kid needs suitable supervision from a guardian. No, this does not include Disney CMs.

Plus, they would be so busy being trespassed, evicted, and dealing with child services that their day is now full.

Today after the afternoon earthquake, all the attractions went 101. The parents blamed the CM's for the rides going down and evacuating the area.

Why blame the park after a natural disaster?

The poor CM at BTRR were in front of the enterence and were turning SG away. Those SG need a major slap. I would hate to see what happened to City Hall.

After a earthquake, does DL give SG refunds?

Sorry you had to deal with this. Although, this is why we try to go off peak times to WDW....I don't think I could handle it packed. I have a short temper and, even in the most magical place on Earth, I will speak my mind if a SG does something, well, stupid. My hubby tries to keep me quiet, and for the most part I respect his wishes, but if someone bumps my kid trying to get in front of my family in a line....god help them.

We usually get curbside (or ropeside, as it were) seats in Liberty Square for Spectro (my favorite parade). I can't tell you how many times the kids and I (the older two) have been sitting there, crossed-legged, reminiscing about our day and some SG plops their kid IN FRONT OF US. Now, mind you, we're sitting at the edge of the rope (just behind it). Thank goodness I usually try and chat up the CMs, because they never fail to come over, ask me to move my child behind the rope, and I look up, smile, and say "that's not my child". Then, the kid gets moved to where the parents are standing....usually five people back. Now, I've been asked before it kids can come and sit with me and my children (cause I am not a SG and get prime seats) and we always make room for them....I actually have some really great pics from a couple years ago where all four kids (their two and our two) are playing with glow sticks together.

Although, I'll tell you, having a trashcan pushed into me.....no way I'd stand for it....I probably would have requested the nearest CM get security.
