Stupid Guest Tricks

Having worked for my entire adult life in a theme park and having friends who work or have worked at DL, I make it point to be polite to all the CM's. You treat people they way you want them to treat you.
It has never occurred to me to ask for a discount at the ODV Food carts and I never have. At Knott's, we can't get discounts on the food for the most part, so I'm used to no discounts. I keep the discount list with my pass if there's any doubt.
Besides the popcorn is so good it's worth every penny I spend on it!

I don't understand the Passholes. We have APs for WDW, and when the lines are long, the park is busy, we just do the easier things and people watch. Even my kids will bail if a line is "too long", because they'd rather just wait for things to wind down then get stuck in the hustle and bustle. The one thing I will speak up against is people cutting the line (wait until your entire party is ready, then enter the line .. sending one person in doesn't mean 5 more get to catch up later). The AP isn't about entitlement to us .. It means we have more opportunities than most people to enjoy the parks, therefore we don't need to do everything every time we head out there. The AP is merely my way of getting in for well below the daily cost of the average guest. :)

Of course, we're not fighting the AP issues that DL deals with (since there is no payment plan here).

First off, I want to clarify: I'm not bagging on those who wear their AP around their neck. My wife does it just for the same reason others have mentioned since that post: She doesn't want to lose it. I just keep mine in my wallet, though, and her's is on a NOS lanyard that was a CM exclusive when I worked there that I bought for her.

I mainly brought that up because it's something I tend to notice. 9 times out of ten, if someone is being a douche around me, I can call them out by their name because they have their AP around their neck and I can read it. I tell ya, nothing takes the wind out of a self-entitled douchebag AP holder than looking them square in the eye and saying "Steve, what the hell is your problem?" and them starting to say something, and just blinking at you as they try to figure out how the hell you knew their name.

Part of the issue about airing these issues on here is, if you're a steady poster on here, you're the type that doesn't HAVE these issues.

-You don't act like you own the park, just because Disney is taking 8 bucks a month out of your checking account for a SoCal pass.

-You respect those people with strollers, wheelchairs, and ECV's that actually respect you and try not to take you out at the ankles.

-You actually act with decency towards your fellow man.

I honestly think there should be a required "Traditions" type class that you have to take as an Annual Passholder; that they should be held to a higher standard in exchange for the discounts, the frequent admission, the free parking, etc.

Double T, I think that is a brilliant idea! They could make it into an attraction and put it into a the Theatre when EO's finished. It could be a short documentary starting with Walt and ending with a positive message on how guests SHOULD act. :)

Traditions for AP holders? OMG .. Where do I sign up?? :D: That would be so much fun.

Disney has always treated people right. and so good thats why people now try and take advantage of every little thing.

Maybe you should make them earn the right to get an AP--like making them sit through a presentation akin to a timeshare presentation. Anyone who stays awake and alert gets the AP. :twisted: :D:
