Stupid Guest Tricks

Update: Things are humming along for the VM. We have our uptune now, and it is phenomenal. We may be switching to a different ballad than the one I mentioned earlier, an amazing new arrangement by our own director, Jim Clancy. We had a great show in the city of Sherman, Texas, last Saturday, and at last night's rehearsal we spent the whole evening working our two contest songs -- what a blast!

Between these two new charts and another new one we're learning for our coming Spring show series, we have a lot to learn in a short time -- particularly since we start choreography for the new uptune in less than two weeks -- but everyone is very excited about the new material and having a blast learning it. The consensus is that these arrangements are so awesome that if the VM does what we always do with them, ain't nobody can touch us this year. It's a great time to be in the chorus!

Dude!!!!! I'm so pleased you're going to be up here. I am literally 20 minutes away from Philly.....I will definately come and see you rehearse and I'll probably bring my daughter.

Leftcoaster beat me to it.....Tony Luk's NOT Pat's or Geno's. There's also a Tony Luk's in the Reading Terminal Market, I think. I can check on that for you.

I'll have to re-read your post to find out which dates you're going to be here, but I am so excited! I love when people come to Philly - we have such a great city, but get a bad rap.

Reading Terminal Market is fantastic ! The Dutch Eating Place was fabulous for the homestyle turkey dinners and pies for desert when I was there in 2000. It was run by some old order Amish families, I think as a ministry as much as a business. The menus all contained verses of scripture. And you got a bit of churching up with the meal. Is it still in operation ?

The cheesesteak place was great too. I never did learn the name of it. Also a coffee roasting company was a favorite of our crew.

According to the RTM website (here), the Dutch Eating Place is still there, but not Tony Lukes. We'll probably spend a bit of time there, since it is less than a block from our hotel (and part of the building where the competition is being held)!

I'm near Saratoga Springs NY, but Philly is not a reasonable Day trip from here. Weekend trip maybe, but not a place to drive too and from in the same day.
