Sad Family News

A place to be entertained. Videos, jokes, games, and more.

At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.

Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

Disney Mom - I'm just catching up and am sorry to hear the news. My son's Dad (my ex) committed suicide about 5 years after we divorced. Even though they hadn't had much contact, it was still a shock and we had to deal with settling his estate and cleaning out his house. No fun, especially when there's no will on record.
Another reason we should all have wills and some type of estate planning - you never know when it's going to be your turn.

Ya helps when ya can. Tomorrow I'm moving a bedroom set for a neighbor. He'll be on island next week and we'll be doing a few happy hours at the Hula Grill. I know all the back roads home.

Hugs back to all of you. :)

Yesterday we went to Catalina to collect a few belongings. We needed to get to his boat which we found out was not in dry dock but anchored out away from the Harbor. It would normally cost hundreds of dollars to charter a boat out there, but instead, the owner of the place we called took us out there
for free and only took a small amount of money for gas when we insisted. Some angels/people are sent to us at the perfect time.

It gave us some comfort to see Catalina on such a beautiful day and to know
that the end was quick and he was in a place that he was very happy in during his childhood- his Father used to take him boating out there.

Whazzup, I'm so very sorry to hear that about your ex. When someone does that, it leaves everyone around them so hurt and thinking what else could they have done. It is sort of like that for my ex too, but I've let go of trying to figure out why and trying for acceptance of the situation. Will take my kids a lot longer to handle this, of course, but I'm going to just focus on helping them.
