Thank God for google. So an RF scanner is a simple bar code scanner. WTH couldn't you have simply stated this darph? We have corded scanners @ DLR & have no probs. I still don't understand how an RF scanner can help count/close out? :o: Can you splain to a blonde? :)

She already hates you. How do I know this? Because I was crossing through the cab today and a screen popped up saying "2010 CPs Will Be Terminated" with a button, instead of saying "Reply", said "Agree".

Anyway... good luck befriending Red. I personally have always had good experiences with driving Coral, Green, and Orange (one exception there) where others can't get a lap in without something breaking.

The summary of this whole thread? The Terminator movies were wrong, the machines are starting their offensive campaign with psychological warfare. The use of nukes is TBA.

Isn't that usually pretty close to the number of CPs that get termed in their first 3 weeks for underage drinking? Has that number gone down any now that PI closed?

A lot of places use RF scanners to do inventory, check stock, etc. I'm sure you've seen them in your area before, put away in my area is always using one for something (taking damages out of inventory).

Thanks Shorty. Having a RF for an audit was a 'whole' lot faster than using hardcopys, especially when there 80-120 pcs going on a truck for delivery. Some scanners were either slooooow as hell or would decide to crash for no know reason. The worst ones were the brand new ones,if you put them on idle mode (sleep),you couldn't just fire them back up. You had to completely reprogram the damn things. I know it doesn't sound like much, but at about 2-3mins every time,it tends to add up.

Thank you Shorty! :) Yes, have seen these types of scanners. I used scanners in Stock to tell how many of each item we needed out. Was kinda ok. Bulky & just another thing to hold, so most stockers have gone back to good old pen & paper. Think DCA Stockers may use scanners more than DL. Your "put away" must be same as our "recovery." As for damaged items, Store's CMs fill out MOS forms & tape/band around items then place in proper bin. darph, I understand slooow & non working scanners. :(

Thanks! Interesting to hear they even act differently from within the same train.

When I was in WDW last month the door alert on Coral was going way too fast. It almost sounded like they had Chip or Dale re-record it.

It was hilarious, I called March on the phone and held it up to the speaker so he could hear it. I just said "listen to this" and then when I put the phone back to my ear he was cracking up

It must have been a 33 RPM record playing at 78. :D:
