LOL, I would have been totally embarrassed too! I fly solo fairly often and listen to an MP3 player with headphones while in a pleasant Xanax haze. I know that sometimes you can get an annoying level of "sound bleed" that can be heard by those around you even if you're wearing headphones, since planes are such close quarters. I generally tell my seatmate, "If my music is too loud and annoys you, please feel free to let me know so I can turn it down."

Considering the E-Stop is only 80%ish, and that people behind me would be thrown around... and considering that it becomes a safety reprimand... in a word, no.

Quiet would not have worked. Mom of the other two kids in the cab tried a variant of that.

Tell him all about Track Course B.

can't help but think waterfall flow of words kids are somewhere on the Autism Spectrum. Not an excuse, but Autistic behavior does include a lack of social appropriateness.
In mulling over the situation, that thought has come to mind. However, that is where it is up to the parents to either 1) not put their child in such a situation, especially when there is someone operating heavy machinery that could hurt people without being present, meaning that if mom or dad can't go, neither can the child without them (and the next monorail isn't far behind); or 2) make sure I know what to expect with their child.

Unfortunately, I made the decision because of this incident, and I have been making it a rule now that if I get a group of three and some other parent asks if Timmy can ride along in front, the answer is no, not without parental supervision (where, in the front cab I can say something to the parent without getting in too much trouble, and if I have to be firm I can in the middle of the open beam, much moreso than with the child only. If I have to tell Timmy to be quiet or I can't move the monorail, it could become a very interesting story by the time it gets to Timmy's parents, and that much more by the time it gets to GR. So, I've made the decision, no kids in the front cab without Mom or Dad or a legal guardian (theirs, not someone else's) who can keep them in line. It's a sad day when I have to come to a conclusion like that, as some of my neatest group interactions have been where mom and dad were in the car behind and the kids just had fun. Maybe I will regain that trust someday.

In the case of Waterfall Kid, I think it is as I said, or at least thought before (if I forgot to post it here, I am too lazy today to go back and look) that Mom and Dad just needed a break and I became the babysitter.

I think I had waterfall kid in the cab today. I had two older children (not teenagers) in the cab, and a family came up and asked if there was space. I said I had two seats, so the toddler-esque children joined me. The father then said "If they are any trouble, just let me know". That should have been the trigger to drop kick chillin out of the cab. But I didn't, and that was a mistake. The little girl was quiet, and although the little boy is the first guest I have seent hat actually listens to the spiels, he... well...

"Why's it called a monorail?"
"Why is it a monorail?"
"Why is it (monorail) at Disney?"
"Why isn't it red?" (I was in green)
"Why do you have to stop?"
"Why are there people?"
"Why do you get passengers?"
"Why do people go here?"
"What do you do?"
"Why do you drive monorail?"
"Why do you need to drive the monorail?"
"What's the beep?"
"How do you talk out the walls?" (referencing the auto spiels, I think...)
"Why do you go fast?"
"Why did you slow down?"

At this point, I decided to just start saying"MmmHmm" and nodding every time he talked. I answered all of them up to that point, and his reaction to the nod and a real answer was the same. Finally, we got to his stop (Resort side) and those two got off. The father came up and asked how they were. I said "inquisitive", and he did a kind of sympathetic chuckle and quickly walked off.

Then I get back to driving, and ask the two other children if they had any questions. They thought that was a really funny thing to ask.

I can sum up this experience with something i said to a guest today:
"I've seen people come to Disney pro-life, and leave pro-abortion."
