Stupid Guest Tricks

I liked "Up" very much, and I adore Pixar pretty much always (with the exception of "Cars"), but they seriously have to fix their girl issues! Male is still the default with Pixar. It was most obvious with "Ratatouille," which had an entire rat colony and NOT ONE GIRL RAT. Dude, what was up with that?

(I don't think it's malicious chauvinism on Pixar's part; I think it's just that most of the storymakers are male, and so it just does not occur to them to make more female characters, and when they do have female characters, the fact that they're female is often the entire character note.)

Well, I thought that it was largely Ellie's story but agree more female characters are needed in the future ;)

Yesterday I went to the Disney Soda Fountain and bought an Ellie Pin! I totally love it, looks like the Grape Soda Bottlecap one in the movie. Maybe they'll have another (smaller) version at the Parks eventually, think they would sell like hotcakes. Lots of UP merchandise there, Including Zazu's hat and a t-shirt saying "Must go to bathroom 80 times a day". :carl:

The Disneystore online had a sale on Up t-shirts, grey color with a house tied to balloons and it said See the World by Balloon and Adventure is Out There. Two shirts for $20. Already got mine and have been wearing it. Very soft, comfy, lightweight, cotton fabric.

I was thinking about it, and am over my little thing the other night.

But I hope they market the Cone of Shame!

We have a dog who has had to wear an Elizabethan Collar after surgery and we laughed so much as the Cone of Shame. It is so true!

I have to put an E-collar on Tripod whenever I groom her; that's the only way I can keep from getting my arms taken off! She may be 18 years old, but those teeth of hers are razor sharp--and she knows how to use them! :D:

I recently had a family party and now have an interesting story about Up. One of the people that came over for the party has 2 little girls aged, I think, 1 and 3. The older one at some point saw Up(I am not sure if the younger one did) and is now terrified of dogs. This came up because we have a 2 year old miniature schnauzer who, like pretty much all dogs, wants to know the people in it's territory. Fun times...

there were lots of girl rats in ratatouille. not in a staring role thou.
you can hear them in the crowded rat scenes, and one is in the end
scene where they are talking with remy and djanga at the end.
