I am so glad to hear that Bru is doing so well. Mr. Bru, you are a saint--I am so glad that despite all the things Bru has had to put up with in her life with her family and health issues, she has a gem of a husband.

I remember when Bru made a blankey and stitched a little monorail on it for someone, before her vision got bad. She's an amazing lady. Tell her Felinefan wishes her the very best, and that healing will be rapid and uneventful.

Tell Bru, she's to get better soon, and take dictation for her so she can post while recovering, with you for her eyes.

Also give her a hug for me.

Dear MrBru,

Please tell my dear Bru that I'm so glad to hear that the surgery went well and she already has recovered some of her eyesight. I'm sure things will continue to improve, as she is a special lady who deserves to have good things in her life after all she's been through.

We've been without home phone or internet for the last three weeks, or I would have posted sooner and sent Bru a PM (private message). Thank you so much for being such a good husband and a faithful companion to that dear lady. We sure miss her around here. Give her lots of hugs from all of us, and a special kiss on the cheek from one of her fans. LOVE YA, BRU!! :grouphug:

New update....

Well we were back at the office on Thursday because a loose stitch was aggrivating her eye. The stitch was broken and removed, and things were going quite well until Thursday night, when the lens implant began MOVING inside her eye. Which it is really NOT supposed to do. We went back again today and basically the implant either needs to be sewn down to the iris, which, given her already VERY weak iris would, we believe, almost certainly cause it to collapse, or, they remove the implant and correct the vision externally with special glasses. We're thinking the glasses are probably the only way to regain any site at all. Either way, a second surgery is going to be necessary.

The really sick part is her vision is improving quite a bit. The double vision is fading and she can make out things like people's faces if she sits close to the TV. We don't know how much of that will be lost or regained once the lens implant is out.

So that's it in a nutshell for now... sorry I don't have better news, but your well wished have helped a great deal. Thank you all so much!

Oh Noooooo! So sorry to hear about the setback. How much vision will she have if she has to resort to the special glasses? I guess it's too soon to tell. Please tell her we're all rooting for her and hoping for the best.
Has she had the second surgery yet? Status report, please.
