I've never been to Japan, but I'd be curious about the attention I'd draw. I know the average U.S. guy towers over the average Japanese man, so I'd seem like Goliath (or Godzilla?) to them, since I'm 6'5" and over 300 lbs. There's no way I could duck the "westerner" tag if I went to Tokyo Disneyland. (But kudos to the teachers for finding a way to get the students there!)

My old boss (about 6'2") went to Thailand to visit his wife's family. They were visiting some sort of tourist area and he was waiting outside. He noticed groups of people gathering around him. Yep, he was the landmark that families were using as a gathering point.

Hey, when I was in high school in Colorado, some of the girls liked to walk beside me because I provided shelter from the cold wind!
You takes what you can gets. :)

LOVE IT! What does "Shikyowon" mean on its own, and how do you pronounce the whole phrase?

Do I get to say, "Go home, Skippy. I work alone."?? (Before the heartwarming scene where I realize his value and we work together to stop the evil forces of ... whomever. Hey, who would be the villain in this flick?)

An evil SG who wants to keep them as pets?
Her captive Wallaby could provide comic relief-and an escape! ;)

Sorry about that, Forgot to use non marching band terminology...
but mechurchlady is dead on with the explanation (wikipedia is right for once! lol)
Battery in marching band = snare drummers, tom tom drummers (We call then tenor drums), Cymbals who marched, and bass drummers... if you marched in the field and carried a percussion instrument, your in the battery...
otherwise if you played a percussion instrument but were up front, your in front ensemble otherwise known as the pit.
