As a programmer, you'd be amazed at how stoooopid people can get. In IT we say these people have an ID-10T problem! (yes...in front of them. The aren't smart enough to get it...)
I am fond of loose nut behind the keyboard myself.

I like the acronym PICNIC = Problem In Chair, Not In Computer.
PEBKAC generates difficult questions, but if I say,
'Wow, that's one PICNIC of a problem!" they just nod slowly and agree with me.

Nope. I'll go take a look sometime. Hmm.

Nice thing about IT terms, most people just think they wouldn't understand if they tried, so you can get away with a lot.

Yep... my favorite though is when people INSIST that I explain to them what is wrong with their computer, and then they tell me they didn't understand what I said. I usually then sum it up with "it's broken."
Almost feels like half the people here have worked in IT at some point.

Yep! We'd talk about being MIS-informed on things. I've never been happy with anyone in "IT", and I don't claim to be an IT professional. I am a security/network/server guy :D:

Or else, as we in Tech Support say: It's a pebcak repair. (Problem exists between chair and keyboard.)
Edit: Scooped, and Zazu's sounds better anyway.
