Ah, but in every instance where someone questions the OP, someone else comes back with "you can't say that." Yes, the one guy from Disney weighs in with that comment, but he prefaced it with a "I worked for them and know how bad they are" comment, which basically is in agreement with the OP. Anyone who came up with an opinion that this story sounded fishy (and it DOES sound fishy - very) was told they were in violation. A few people made those comments poorly (calling the OP is an idiot and not much else to say), and that should be, if not a "violation" at least warned against. But others commented that the story didn't sound right, or that the OP appeared to be exaggerating or outright not telling the truth, and those comments were also singled out by other posters as not allowed.

I dunno, that Blizzard Beach story just doesn't ring true to me.

I guess Mr. Syndrome and I should be a lot more whiney. Once at Typhoon Lagoon he had been wearing his shoes on the slide but a new lifeguard took over and insisted he had to take 'em off. He did so and ended up slipped and cutting his leg pretty badly at the end of the slide when he got up. First Aid pretty much blew him off, and he has a scar to this day. Guess instead of just going home and bandaging it we should have gone to the emergency room and then the news stations. With a lasting scar, it should be worth 5 digits at least. :rolleyes:

The one about BB last month was linked on MousePad from that site.

The person there claims he went straight to Sarasota Memorial Hospital, which is only 120 miles away for better service. Also that he was totally ignored except for being offered Tylenol, Ice and a hospital brochure by the Nurse. Tell me that if someone gets injured on a slide at a water park you will not have managers swarming and the slide (at least temporarily) closed down.

I read the article, sounds like he was referred to some sort of services where he could get xrays and treatment, but turned it down DUE TO A PROBLEM WITH HIS MEDICAL COVERAGE. Not sure nature of the problem with coverage, but he turned down what was offered. Why didn't he call 911 if no one else would? Once again, I presume lack of coverage. It is terrible that this happened to him, but I am not realizing how it is the fault of those at Blizzard Beach, and how they failed to provide care. Maybe if there were more details? :confused:
Not sure of the lifeguard's obligation to pull him out of the pool,maybe lifeguard was waiting for additional assistance? We don't know how large said victim was, maybe he was very agitated and lifeguard was cautious about trying to pull him out?

I would also like to point out that with Disney the ambulance ride would have been gratis. While the services at Celebration would not, I don't believe any hospital is allowed to turn you away for not having health insurance. Too many things in that OP's story that point to a complete fabrication.

Gotta agree with BW, I have never heard of a hospital ER not treating an injury. (The loss in fees is nothing compared with the amount they would pay if sued for not treating a paitent.)

That aside, most health care professionals I have delt with in emergency situations are focused on helping the injured, not worried about payment. that comes later with the admin people.

Ya know, stuff like this makes me utterly sick. And yes, that site is full of nothing but overgrown, overblown LEECHES that take money out of ALL OF OUR pockets. I wish the mouse would take a major bite out of his ass!!

I just now read the link in the first post. The OP gives the FULL NAME of the guy in guest claims, but her last name is redacted. FULL NAME happens to be a friend of mine and the nicest guy in the world. How is that fair that only her name is posted and his FULL NAME is out there for the whole world to see? Not fair at all! :eek:

I am sure a little research would yield his full name, then it could be posted!!!
