Yes, the one that bounces ;) . It is bad because it wasn't scanned back into the system. That means that I could potentially be paying several thousand dollars for a costume that I never even checked out. We are held responsible for costume pieces, so if they go missing and they are on our record, the amount can be taken out of our paycheck. In entertainment, it is a huge issue because of the number of things we have to check out each day. Each individual piece is scanned, and the sheer volume means that constumes constantly get missed when they are scanned back in. That is why we have to keep an eagle eye on our record. It's bad enough to have a piece on your record that you turned back in, but to have an entire costume that you never even checked out?

Yep, that one. It's bad, because they are VERY expensive, and you really don't want to be paying that much for something you didn't even scan out!!

Is it honestly that difficult to realize that the belts are poorly made? I've owned belts for years at a time before they start to show signs of wear, yet I'm lucky if one of Disney's belts will hold up for six months.
You think that's bad, try being a CM who returns his entire costume at the end of the day.

I'm always able to get a belt the next day (not necessarily the right one for my costume, but it's still a belt).

They did just get a big new shipment of black belts, but who knows how long they'll last, particularly with some CMs I know.....

Nice to know that THAT remains a constant on both coasts ;) :D: .

Yeah! And all the time it takes to earn one, months and years of practice in the dojo, all that bowing to the sensei...

When I worked at Knott's, I never had a problem with Wardrobe. And if anybody had a problem with their wardrobe, as long as they were open and Wardrobe had their size, no problem getting a replacement. We bought our shoes, and had to provide our own socks, but the rest of the costume was no big deal. There were times I had to have pant legs altered, and they would be done either that day or next depending on how busy they were or when you brought them in.
My only complaint was the foul weather gear. One year we went to Wardrobe for storm suits because the winter of 2004-2005 was a cold, wet one. The pants tore quickly; the jacket was okay, though. They were made of semi-opaque plastic. I can't understand how the pants could tear so quickly and the jacket be okay. That was a major complaint about those storm suits. Good thing they didn't charge us for the torn pants when we turned them in; we told Wardrobe about the pants, and they were aware of the problem. They thought that was a bad deal, too.
Though I will tell you, I do remember seeing a few ROs using other belts than those issued on their costumes. As long as they matched the costume, no prob.

Due to a yellow web belt shortage, I have a black dress belt for my costume.

It's almost time to turn it in because it's about to tear in half. I have never had a belt do that in the short time that I have had this one!

If I get any grief about it, I'll wrap it around someone's neck!

Every time I have to deal with Costuming, it's like the whole
staff is on crack.

The racks with any of my sizes are usually empty, I go ask for something
and they take 20 min. to find it out back and that makes
me late. I've lost
count of the points I've accumulated because of their incompetence.

Oh, and then there's "overdue item Nazi" in the daytime. If I treated a
park guest like he treats me for having an item too long I'd have been
at the bus stop with a fruit basket the same day. Seriously. He makes
threats to shut my account down and tries to embarass me into making a
special trip over so he can scan it. Which, naturally, makes me stall even
longer. He's a constant. I'm a variable. Sucks to be him.

Now enter the elite forces... the "Raiders of the Lost Garments". This
roaming pack of K-Mart rejects raids loactions that are open and take
everything hanging or lying around the location. Yes, when OPEN! Now
half of that locations staff is no longer show ready. How very convienient.
More points to the masses under the flag of cluelessness.

But, giving credit where credit is due, there is one in DLR CC that's awesome.
She flat out calls her leads idiots and goes right around them to get you
what you need. Lose something? She's diving in the big bin trying to find it
without batting an eye. And I'm looking at this scene and saying "Holy shit!
I would so NOT do that with out hip boots a gas mask and a good set of
opera gloves!" Sadly, this is bound to be her ultimate undoing.
