Re: Universal Hollywood Back Lot on fire!
Just an update - on the news today they've indicated that they will rebuild the New York street scene and the backlot but will be replacing Kong with another attraction or display eventually. They said they'd announce the rebuilt backlot and more information about what will replace Kong later. So, I guess ...

I've never been to Universal Studios, but I remember on the old commercials they had, they had the Parting of the Red Sea from the movie 'The Ten Commandments." Is that still there?
Re: Universal Hollywood Back Lot on fire!
it was a couple of years back when I still worked there. The lagoon where it's located is a good distance away from New York Street, so likely, it's still there.

Re: Universal Hollywood Back Lot on fire!
Probably safe as well, as that lagoon is a bit of a distance from the fire site too.

Last I heard, Bruce and the Red Sea were still there (although Bruce is not IN the red sea) and as mentioned, well away from the fire area. If you are planning a trip to Universal Hollywood, the fire location is now part of the tour! That's showbiz!

The ads for Universal now have the tag line:"The Show Must Go On" and also make it clear that the park is fully operational.
