Hey everyone,

I emailed Mr. Pritchard last night and he was kind enough to supply an address to me where people can send notes to Randy's family. He told me to please feel free to share it with Randy's friends here because he thought it would be good for the family to know how many friends he had in so many different places.

If you'd like to send a card or anything, please PM me and I'll get the address to you ASAP.

I want to make them something in addition to the card. . .but it might take me a couple weeks. . . but I already have a plan in mind.

hugs to all today,
Bru

This just stinks. I am so sorry to hear this, my thoughts to his family. Randy made us all laugh when we needed to.

He will be missed...

If anyone here is ever on RADP, Rudeney is collecting check payable to WILL, the NPR station where he worked for 20 years, and sending them as a batch contribution. There have been a real lot of posts there about him.

In Honor of and to honor the memory of a man my husband and I only knew on this board today May 20, 2008, we rode on the train and the Monorail in two full circles, one each... Starting out on the train at the Main Street Station, and returning there, and then from there we walked to the monorail. I took some pictures of Monorail Red, still undergoing Testing, but did ride on a monorail with the Year Of A Million Dreams motif on it, from Tomorrowland, to Downtown Disney and back to Tomorrowland.

I have a feeling Randy would have loved to ride on Monorail Red... When I get the chance to, my first ride will be for him...

Randy was one of my favorite posters here - his comments were always so interesting as he analyzed a situation and came up with a fascinating solution to just about any problem. He will truly be missed. I'm sorry I never had the chance to meet him in person. We'll ride the monorail for him in November.

I've had something I was going to tell you about for a few weeks now, and I think this is the perfect place to do it. A few here know about this, so now I am coming out with it to everyone. What I am about to tell you about, I was going to do anyway, but now I will be doing it here in honor of Randy.

You see, on June 10th, I will have six months in at Safari. I love the attraction, but I have come to understand what many here have told me, about how working the Safari really saps every ounce of energy you have from your body. Safari has a very high transfer rate, and many people who transfer out still love the attraction, but they are physically and mentally exhausted. For reference, I generally prefer to work as many hours as the company will allow (in buses I took only one ER because I was sick), and at Safari I try for an ER at least once a week, even if I can't go home and instead I go and ride around on other peoples' safaris, or walk around the Animal Kingdom, or whatever.

On June 10th, I will be putting in for a transfer, and I know they are actively looking for people in this area... it's even mentioned on the job line. I know several of the managers from when I was in buses, and they seem to generally like me, and the feeling is mutual. It's something I have wanted to do since I was 15, and now I think it is high time to follow this dream. Maybe not originally, but now in honor of our friend Randy, I am going to be applying for and making a transfer into Monorails. Whenever a member of SGT gets on a train with me, I would like to have something special we can do, in honor of Randy. I wish I could have had him in the front cab with me, I know he would have loved it.

So those that knew Randy personally, if you have any ideas something we can do in that front cab when members of SGT join me there, please let me know.

Did Randy have a favorite line or joke that you could add in? Or maybe you can toss in the "French toast and nachos" line after they close the doors, just in case for those who wanted to know what that second line really ment in spanish, just a thought.

This is very sad news indeed. I was so hoping I'd be able to coordinate a WDW trip with one of his some day. My husband and him probably would've spent hours talking about the monorails.

A button or pin?

"Randy B riding the monorail"

Something that would commemorate his enthusiasm for the attraction?
