Taco Bell
Re: Taco Bell
When I was a kid, we ent to a BK here in FL and it was one of the last we ever went to. My Dad at the time only had a 4-door sedan of sorts and the drive-thru had the impossible to get out of curb surrounding it-basically keeping cars locked from leaveing. anyway, he has two hungry kids (my sister and I) who just frolicked all over magic kingdom. We waited 20 minutes in drive thru just to pay. and another 10 minutes to get to the second window. we would have pulled up sooner or pulled out sooner but we were trapped! When we get to the second window my dad demands a complete refund and to keep the drinks for free (cause we had those and only those after 30+ minutes). On the inside there was absolutely NO ONE and the employees were just standing around doing nothing! We've only been back like twice since to BK and i out and out refuse to eat there.
speaking fromt he other side, i did put in nearly 5 years with McDonald's and there are just as many morons coming through as there are who workt here. and boy, do i have some tales.

I put the blame or praise on the management and the regional mangers as much as the local. I have seen a tendancy toward poor service at many BKs (I don't do Tacos, so can't speak to those). There was one that would remain open late near campus because many college students would enjoy a late night meal. But the workers seemed to think they were there to socialize and realy didn't want to be bothered by customers. Every night there would be a line out the door and down the sidewalk (fun in cold or inclement weather) that wouldn't move very fast. There was a reason the line would barely move. There would be 3 people on the front counter, but only one open register. They would chat among themselves and ignore the line of people. Every once in a while they would give the firast person in line something and then take the next order, before going back to gossiping. I even watyched several times when the customer would order a bag of fries. nothing more. There would be fries in the tray (getting very stale) but it would take up to 4 min before anyone would put fries in a bag. And they would only make one bag of fries. If you ordered two, you waited 8 min for the second bag to become available. Many times if you ordered anything from the grill in the back they would forget the order before they got around to putting the meat on the grill. They would have to be reminded 3 or 4 time (several min apart) what they were making. The only reason I went there so often was I was with a friend that insisted on getting food at midnight every time we went out to the pool room (a couple times a week).
I finally solved the problem for myself. I have a George Foreman Grill and I freeze premade burgers so I can make my own, exactly the way I want it, in about the same time it would take to get a burger at the local Fast Food. And I save myself the drive. And I can have two 1/4 lb burgers with all the fixins for about 1/4 the price at McDs.

Actually that made me laugh. Cant get more vegetarian then no meat whatsoever. Sorry, it was funny.Syndrome wrote:I had ordered the Garden Burger or whatever it's called, which has a vegetarian patty in place of the meat. Unfortunately, when I opened it, there was NO patty whatsoever! None!
HELL NO! I managed to regain my composure, but I have a loud natural voice and made sure to use it at a level the people around us could hear:
LOL... I go into MOM voice mode at times.
Hey that sounds like our TB. Even better and I forgot to tell corporate this, one day they had their buddies behind the counter having a good time. Dont know if they were off duty employees or not but, if you dont have a uniform on there is no reason for you to be back there.ectomstr wrote:On the inside there was absolutely NO ONE and the employees were just standing around doing nothing!
Reminds me, corporate hasnt called me back yet. Guess I gotta call them again.

Re: Taco Bell
Corporate won't call you back, they send it onto the manager at the local restaurant and they're supposed to call you. I got a call from the manager yesterday, apparently he has just taken over this particular TB. Like I said, the day crew is always awesome, and I'm pretty sure I've seen the guy who called me and he is very nice and polite. He said that he is going be giving the night crew a stern lecture and thanked me for bringing it to his attention. I was impressed that he called me back the very next day.

Re: Taco Bell
Well according to the guy at corporate he was going to have someone from that office call me back, and the regional manager. Considering the general manager is probably the one who hired Little Mr. Attitude I doubt she will be calling me back. I think the corporate guy is concerned about the safety/health issues. I want this kid gone and this stuff fixed. It would be a shame if they had to close it down if they refuse to comply with OSHA and the Health Dept. but I would rather do without TB then have someone get sick eventually.
From what I understand from asking long term locals, the guy who owns it is a bit of an idiot himself and really dont care. Gotta love small towns, if you need an answer or a name someone is sure to know it. :D:

Re: Taco Bell
My most amusing call to one of those regional complaint lines was many years ago for a Boston Market in IL. The woman in front of me was freaking, and when I got to where she was standing I could see why. Just across from the food counter a woman was changing her baby's really disgusting diaper right on a table! The closest table to the food area yet! The worker (don't remember if it was a manager) refused to do anything about it, so the woman said she didn't want her order and they were telling her she had to pay for it. She said she was going to call their 800 number. I was so disgusted that I just left.
I called the 800 number myself, just in case she called and they thought she was exaggerating the attitude of the worker ("Well, we'll wipe the table off when she's done and it's not touching your food, so what's the big deal?"). The person I spoke with was actually the person she had reached, but he didn't sound all that concerned either. He was like, "Well, the stuff they wipe it down with should kill the germs." Ugh! Never, ever, ever ate there again.

Ah, yes. One of the longest, most pointless songs ever recorded -- and very funny.felinefan wrote:Anybody seen or heard "Stuck in the Drive-Thru" by Weird Al?
The whole "Straight Outta Lynwood" CD is awesome, and it's hard for me to pick a favorite, with such classics as "Pancreas" and "Weasel Stomping Day,"... but "Confessions Part 3" never fails to crack me up.
