I would duck and run. I'm 4'10", I can fit in spaces where others can't so it's easy for me to escape. When we go to the parks my friends are always getting onto me. I'm so used to having to weave between people to get where I'm going when I'm working, when I'm there as a guest, it comes as second nature. I forget that my normal sized friends cannot fit through the same gaps I can!
Seriously though, it's not worth the risk of getting charged or losing my job to try to restrain or defend myself. I avoid it if I can. I have been hit/punched several times on the job because people lose their brains when they deal with the characters. One was so bad I had to leave set because it drove my head into the base of my skull and gave me a migraine. I turned around and left immediately because I couldn't see straight, and my attendant had to explain to all the other guests what happened.

I'm 6'5" and I did pretty good at getting through the post-Wishes crowd last July. I kept up with my SIL who is pretty short. I don't think she is quite as short as you but close.

My theory is that those of us on the extreme ends of the spectrum have an easier time- I can fit through small gaps and you can just create your own, everybody sees you coming!

Not quite, I'm really skinny and know how to squeeze through narrow gaps. I'm so skinny I can turn sideways and hide behind a small pole (not quite accurate but pretty damn close).

I am the opposite end of the spectrum from Shorty, I have girth and can still get through gaps that leave others following me wondering what the hell just happened. So I think it's just part of being a Cast Member and being on your turf.

I know what you mean. I'm not as short as you (I'm about 5'2 or so) but I've gotten quite good at being able to weave through crowds. It is especially useful when I need to get from Main Street to Fantasyland after Spectro.
I have never had to get security involved, but during my first program I was doing PAC on Main Street for SADCT. 2 ladies got into a HUGE fight...it was something! Apparently this is what happened- the first lady and her family were waiting for the parade near in front of the Train Station. Well, Lady #2 decided she wanted to watch there too...but there was no room. So when she tried to squeeze in, she broke Lady #1's stroller. My manager called security, but Lady #2 fled the scene.
