Wow I'm impressed that a CM can recall a random guest more than a few days with the thousands and thousands of guests they meet. I have gone looking for a couple of CMs that have left lasting impressions with us but nope I cant recall their names:-(

I had that happen to me the other way around. I worked at Studios and opened the Backlot Theatre (where Pocohantas and Hunchback of Notre Dame live musical shows played). I left the Studios and worked for several years in the resorts. I then left Disney completely, and worked in South Florida and South Carolina for several years. I came back to Orlando, and although my full time job was at Universal this time, I wanted to continue working at Disney as well. I took a part time job at Fantasmic! I was assisting with loading guests into the theatre one night and I hear my name being called. A family in the back of the ampitheatre, in the wheelchair accessible seating, was calling to me by name. When I went over there, figuring they'd just read my nametag, they asked "do you remember us?" They had been regular guests to the Hunchback show and remembered me! Once they reminded me, I did actually remember them as being the fun kind of "groupies" (the ones who appreciated the show, but weren't trying to BE the show). Out of a huge bunch of CMs and several thousand guests, they remembered me as being someone they enjoyed seeing when they came to the park. That gives you a warm fuzzy feeling as a CM! :frollo: (we really need Clopin as he's my favorite!)

Regarding Guest Relations: You'll have a much easier time getting that post if you speak more than one language.

Theme Park Where...

I have this very eerie feeling that we know each other....I've been at Universal forever (have one of those 15 year pins) and my best friend in the universe is one of those Cholpin folks (every weekend for years) at Hunchback....

Feel free to PM me...ever work Special Events...

I still can't get over it!

It's not the only time it's happened to us either, we went to the Cali Grill on our last trip after not being to WDW for 3 years and the server we'd had on our previous trip was there. I adored him because he was so fun and my daughter made a memory for him. . . she was just a little thing at the time and she insisted on tipping him herself. When she handed him the crumpled up dollar bill at the end of our meal and declared it was his tip he was puzzled- I said to him "not your tip from the table, your tip from her." He said "Oh, I can't take it," And I said "You have to, because it came from her heart and when you have a bad day with rude guests, I want you to look at that dollar and remember that ***** gave it to you because you made her evening really magical."

He just about cried.

Well, we sought him out on our last trip and even after all those years, after a second he remembered us! He looked at my daughter and said, "MY how you've grown!!!"

I'm hoping he'll be there when hubby and I sneak down in April alone so that we can ask for his section :)

Here's another freaky story for you since I'm telling them LOL

A few months after I was Mickey's escort at the store opening, my sister and I went to WDW for our first trip without our parents. We were shopping in the grand canyon concourse and Goofy was standing at the podium of the restaurant (way back then Chef Mickey wasn't there but I think the Concourse steakhouse had characters at dinner) anyway- he starts gesturing to me wildly. I come over, and he looks around, and sees no one is watching so he takes a piece of paper and pen and writes. "I know you! You work at the ******** ** Disney Store!" So by this point I'm really freaking out Goofy knows me and I said, "Yes, have we met?" and he says ,"Do you know me?" And I looked at him totally deadpan and said. . .

"Of course I do. You're Goofy." He smacked himself on the forehead and sadly didn't get to write anything else because his manager was headed our way so I never did find out how Goofy knew me!!!

Crazy LOL. I must be really weird. Um. Unique. Yeah. That's better :D

Great stories! We always remember CMs we have met and many remember us too. We have made some very good friends with a few in the DL Hotel, because the second time we went back they looked at us and remembered us. They remembered our names and where we are from! Now we see them usually twice a year and keep in touch via email. I will remember CMs at the Contemporary this next May, if some of the same people are still there. We won't be staying there, but we will drop by to see if any of the CMs we met two years ago are there. We will make new friends a the Poly and the Yacht Club this trip! I love running into CMs that we met on other trips. Sometimes they are surprised that we remember them, sometimes they remember us too. It is so much fun to see the same great people again! :D:

The first time Judy and I cam down in the spring we were walking in Epcot near the entrance of World Showcase and a couple of CMs wandering by stopped and asked something to the effect of "what are you two doing here this time of year?".

Or, even better, when on July 1, 1993, Ray, the original Mayor of Main Street, saw Judy outside Expo Hall and asked her if we knew a family with kids who would like to join us as Grand Marshals on the 4th of July. (And this was during Party Gras when the GMs we in the first float of the parade with Roger cavorting above us on the float.)

I remember this one girl and she took videos of me with chip and dale and there was so much fun with her that I still remember that. I have the tapes but cannot find them. CMs remain in my heart dear memories.
