Stupid Guest Tricks

i called my parents the day this happened. they had gone out and were on 27 and were in the backup caused by this but i don't know if they know yet.

we're very lucky in this ourselves. we have just moved off of 27 and 1-4 (using mostly back roads and 192 to get to work).

the driver should be charged with vehicular manslaughter.

I hope he is charged and convicted.

I hope that bastard lives a long life... remembering every day what he has done and then burns in hell.

I was there. My ex lives right up the road from there. We couldn't even get to his house, as they had the whole road blocked off.

I wasn't upset about that, even though it made me late for work, and inconvenienced me. But it had to be done. There were a lot of people harassing the cops because they couldn't get through.

People's stupidity is fun to laugh at on boards like this. It's what some people have to do to relieve the stress of the day. (Although I would give my right arm for there to be no need for this board :D :) But this is the kind of stupidity that makes me, and hopefully everyone reading, realize how senseless people can be. (This isn't a knock on the OP, as I know the reason for the post wasn't malicious, but as a learning experience. I'm glad the OP made others aware of this tragedy, in to maybe prevent it from happening again.)

While it is the original intent to be a place where we "laugh" about the things we see from day to day, it has expanded to be so much more, as a community. I consider this board to be the back porch of Disney World, where at the end of the day we go to detox after all the guests go home to their hotel rooms. It is a place where we can still laugh about things we see, or relieve stress, or inform others of the tragedies like this that befall our Disney family.

Now, I am curious as to how your post could be construed as a "knock" on me.

I consider this my back porch as well, even tho I am not (yet?) a CM. I feel welcomed by the folks here and we talk of everything that is important to us and share laughs about the SGs, true, but so much more than that.

I have found cyber hugs here when I have needed them. I know many others feel the same way. This board has evolved and has built a very strong core community of folks from all over the country, from all walks of life, from CM's in the Parks to those who are supportive guests, from lurkers who laugh at our antics and cry with us at our sadnesses, to those who post everyday. It is a living, breathing, wiggling life form all on it's own and I am so glad to have found it and been welcomed into it!

Yes, I know I don't post here as often as I should. But now that I've recently been hired with WDW and it looks like it'll be permanent, I've begun to fully appreciate the closeness and ability to let off steam that this board offers to us. It's wonderful.
