Now why didn't I think of that? I did go out and keep her company and draped my arm across her back and gave her reassuring pats while feeding her some horsey treats (cookies made with molasses and oats). She calmed down right away and the celebration ended at 12:01am, right after I yelled "CUT IT OUT OR I'M GONNA CALL THE COPS!" in a very loud and nasty voice.
And now good morning to all the SGT Crew. Sounds like a pretty mellow bunch - nobody mentioned any wild parties.
Hobie - Does the island still explode during Chinese New Year celebration? That was the most incredible display of pyrotechnics I've ever seen. I had a cold one year and thought I was gonna die from asphyxiation. Couldn't even step outside because the smoke from fireworks was so thick I couldn't breathe.
Glad the horse was Okay!! We should keep this thread and start the countdown for NEXT year (hehehe) (whats Horse's name? "Horse?" or "Horace?")
A horse named Horace, counting down to 2009!

We don't see much for Chinese New Year on Maui. New Year's and the 4th are usually war zones.
I just read that the air pollution from those two days makes us worse that LA. It's not hard to believe.

Guess you had too much rum and mojitos last night, Grumpy. Hope your head is clearererer now.
And the horse's name is Gidget. She's a half-Arabian pinto, about 21 years old (gettin' on up there).

:newyear: everyone.
I was asleep at 5PM yesterday afternoon and been resting all day. Still trying to get well from the California Crud. Raffle kept waking me up with his awful cough all night! We both are still sick, but on the mend. Hope everyone had a safe and sane New Years's Eve. I wonder, all you DL CMs, did the wind stop the fireworks again? I know last week there were plenty of SGs complaining about ruined vacations and the like becuase the Santa Ana winds cancelled fireworks every night except the 20th, 24th and I don't know how many other days after that. Was just curious about last night. It had to *fun* if they were cancelled. :(
Anyway, happy 2008 everyone...back to bed for more rest to try to get rid of this flu bug!

I haven't heard if they canceled due to winds last night Susi, I wasn't there... Next time you come, remind us before you get here, and we should invest in a bicycle horn for you so you can BEEP! at the people in front of you in your ECV/SUV (Susi's Unstoppable Vehicle) so you don't run us over! Teehee!
Chicken Soup sounds good right now... I myself think I am coming down with a cold. Blah... Had a cup of water earlier with my lunch with lots of lemon in it. Hope lemons have vitamin C....

I would have LOVED to have been there to hear you say that. :D:
It was quiet over here by the university, I didn't hear to many fireworks go off.
I'd love to meet Gidget sometime.
Happy New Year, everybody!

Hey Happy New Year!!!
A question: can you buy fireworks legally in Flordia?
