Yeah, usually it's Cinderella with the attitude problem.
(Do CM's get fired for actions like that in full view of the guests?)
Oh yeah. If witnessed by two CMs or on video, that's a clear termination offense.

At what company would you not get the boot for slugging a fellow employee?

Canoe, I am so sorry you had to deal with that! We were there from the 20th to the 27th! I wish I had seen Sleeping Beauty punch out someone. I ALWAYS have my camera on, (Raffle always tries to remind me to turn it off, but it is moments like those that you miss if you turn your camera off. I caught a few that will make you laff.) I will post when I upload.

I was hoarsely yelling at stupid people on the sidewalks on Main Street during the Parade, because some of the numb nuts thought they could just stop in the walkway part BEHIND the ropes where the traffic is supposed to keep moving... and watch the parade. To their credit, the GC folks were doing a handsome job, except for the spots BETWEEN the CMs where the SGs think that the CMs cannot see them and they stop there. I yelled at the asshole SGs.. And then the CM would come and move their asses along. Poor GC CMs. I have great empathy for you. My heart is with you the whole season, hell, anytime you are needed.... I should have run the SGs down with my SUV-ECV. I was screaming at them in my laryngitis voice the whole way! Oh, I wish I had not had laryngitis! I coulda moved those malingerers faster than a cattle dog with bloodlust, with my bark. In my case, my bark IS as bad, if not worse than, my bite! :hysteria: I do not suffer fools gladly. I have little patience for absolute stupidity, out and out rudeness or entitlement issues. I feel it is my job to either change these people to forgiving, wonderful guests :D: or rid the world of their ilk. I try!

If this is your very first trip to DL and you are truly lost or need help, then I have no problem helping you. I did that when people asked questions nicely or when I would overhear someone make a mistake with their map, I would gently tell them they needed to go the other way. They were happy to have the help. Not everyone has been there as many times as all of us and some need a little help.

BUT...BUT...The assholes who mistreat CMs and other guests need to go home and never darken the gates of DL or WDW again!

In the line for Soarin', I clipped one kid (a big 13 or 14 yr old, NOT a tiny little toddler!!!!) and made him bleed :tank: :D: NOT my fault. The asinine little monkey ran in front of me to try to get first in line while the whole crowd of folks moving toward the entrance slowly moved that way, and he tried a twisting jump manuver that landed him right smack dab on the front of the ECV. His wittle ankle got all cut up. I gave him a dirty look and said "Watch where you are going next time" and laughed! Oh I AM wicked! I NEVER once hit anyone on purpose or because I was NOT looking. It was the dimwits with the 100 yard stares and walking 4 abreast through Adventureland that made me yell at them to move their fat asses outa my way!

I symapathize Canoe, and sadly, I think we will not be going at Christmas anymore. I will miss seeing all my friends at the park and at the DL Hotel. We know so many people that work at the Hotel and it was such a joy to see them all again. We missed a couple because they were at the Grand Cal or nursing a broken arm at home, but it was great to see them. I am so sorry we missed Pattimelt and Lady Ulrike, but, good news!!!! We will be coming at the end of January for my birthday again and it should be a little more sane then. We WILL most definitely see you then. Honestly, I could NOT believe the queue for Small World EVERY minute of EVERY day we were there. It backed up all the way down the parade route almost to the Matterhorn one time! Holy Crap. That many people want to see the Chucky dolls??? It seems there were more of them this year than Christmas 2006. Even DCA was crowded to some extent and that place NEVER gets crowded! ;)

We had one very nice Magic maker show us how to get out of the Seventh Ring of Hell after the evening Parade. We had chairs for the Parade by Small World, because of the tour we took and when the Parade was over, the line for Small World surrounded the whole area along ropes and we could not find an exit. I spun around and around on my wheels wailing for some saintly escape from the clutches of the demon SGs surrounding the Ring of Hell for a half hour when a very nice older CM named Pat found us and saw our looks of horror at being trapped in there and she led us all the way out to the Matterhorn. She even gave me a VERY special Magic Moment that I am not allowed to tell! ;) Otherwise it would not be magic! She MADE my day with that Magic Moment. Let's just say she saw that I liked pins! ;)

I don't know how we could have found Lady Ulrike in that mob anyways.....It was mayhem. We did wait an hour and a half for PrincessFantasy Faire  and YES! I made Raffle pose with the Princesses. Just like I made him pose at Ariel's Grotto, but he was very, very sick that day and you'll see in the pics that he was not feeling well at lunch with the lovely Her Royal Highnesses.....Mwahahahahahahaaha! Photos shall be distributed to all for posting in your local jurisdiction. ;)

Hang in there, my dear CMs!!!!!!! The worst is yet to come! NYE!!!!!!!!! That is why we leave before that dreaded day! It will be over soon enough and the Park will settle down. There were so many people, gates closed and tempers WERE flaring and I just thought, "Give me a good aim with this SUV-ECV and it is all over! Just once, let me take one out!" But, I did NOT want to be ejected from the Park (no matter that we were only there about 4 hours each day because we were festering flu factories and could not make it longer than that.)
Godspeed to all of you CMs and may January 7th (the week after all the mayhem when it dies down, sort-of) come as quickly as possible!!!!! In the meantime bring on the SG stories we so love to hear!!!!
susi*I WILL run your major ass over with my SUV-ECV, if you don't move a little faster, sweetie!*slicker...I so nice :)

Randy B wrote:How about this. Many glass shelves I see have a decorative metal edging on the front. What if those are wired to one treminus of a prod and the other to ground. Or better yet wire the prod terminals to alternating shelves. Then when a climber appears, flip the switch.

DADDYYYYYY the shelf BIT me!

And come to think of it the same could be used for the front of "complaint desks" and counters. If an irate complainer shows signs of incipient violence, the desk fights back for you. And you can't be blamed for a "static buildup" deterring a potential problem. :D:

Randy
Randy, you are one of those mad genius inventors we love. I love "the shelf bit me" one. I used to work in retail many years ago and we had glass shelves throughout the store (A ver large Hallmark card and gift shop that carrtied all the Hallmark products and office and art supplies). It would have been great to be able to turn on the metal edges at a given time when it was slow and we were watching the shelf climbers. We even had metal shelves! I would have loved a ZZZZZZZZAP  large enough to throw the tyke across to the other side of the store and end up in the Puzzle display! That would have been entertaining. Ever work a Hallmark Card shop the day after Christmas in a mall when EVERY single woman is going to get 50% off EVERY Christmas item?  It is quite frightening! And there have been fights there too when one woman grabs the last roll of some paper and another woman wanted it and said she touched it first, OMG!!!!!!!! It is paper, for crying out loud! They'll make more, next year and you'll be back!

You met Pat, yea....she's one of the best CMs ever. And I'm not just saying that because she bakes us cookies all the time. :)

Oh Lady Ulrike! I am so sorry we did not get over to meet you. We were so sick, still are. It was so crowded at Small World the whole time. We will meet you in January. We are coming around the end of the month, probably a crossover of January-February. My b-day is Jan 30th and we always spend it at DL then go to No Cal to see the family for a week. A friend is going to try to get us resses for Club33 this next trip. She just could not swing any time over Christmas, it was so booked. But maybe for my birthday!!!!! :D:

But you can be assured that we will find you in a month. I so wish we could have met you. I could not talk and was in so much pain the whole trip.... :( another of our Trips from Hell!!!! It happens every Christmas to us at DL. I think we will start coming in January to DL and then to WDW in May and then DL in Fall and then maybe try Christmas in Hawaii! Hobie, are you ready for us for Mele Kalikimaka 2008 ??? So we will plan for Jan!

And Raffle forgot the Gingerbread at home when we came. We will bring some fresh cookies in January for all to partake of. Deal?
It was one of those trips.....

And Pat was one of the most special, kindest people I have ever met. We talked for a good 25 minutes about the spirit of Walt and how we need to teach the young people about that spirit. So many kids just see DL as another Amusement Park with the dreaded R word, not as a special place to lose yourself in and immerse yourself in adventures and ATTRACTIONS, not the R word! ;) I love that Walt's spirit still permeates the Park. He is so very much alive in the CMs and the adventures and attractions and Main Street especially for me!!!!! I love Walt's park and his spirit!!!!!! Pat was wonderful! She was off to escort a young couple on the the StorybookLand Boats where the young man was going to propose! Awwwwwww...She has a great role at DL!!!!!!! I want to be a Magic maker when I get hired!!!!! That is a cool thing to do! She was special! I will remember her always! YAY Pat!!!!!!!!!! :)
susi*sad that she did not meet Lady Ulrike and Pattimelt at Xmas in DL :( *slicker

It sounds like you made the best of a bad situation!! so sorry to have your magic damaged by the flu bug, but here in Kali-four-nyyya its almost like its becoming our state disease!! DW had been trying the airbourne, but a tv news story about that and other prevention methods said it wa good but not proved, they recommended zinc and other supplements. DW does that as she suffers from alergies from time to time!

Well, now I know the perfect way for you to make it up to me, take me with you to Club 33. :) That's not too much to ask right? It's one of the few place at DL that I've never seen.

Let me know when you'll be out here cause it sounds like you'll be here after SW goes down and I'm not sure where I'll be at.

OK Susi...Let us know when you are coming out again, I believe I have the last two weekends of the month off, so we can go meet you and Raffles again, we owe you lunch!(or breakfast or whatever you wish)
I'm so sorry your trip was marred by the flu bug, your voice was pretty much going when we met, so sorry it got worse...You definitely were a trooper tho with fighting the crowds with the ECV(Hope that teenage dodo learned his lesson!)
I think it was totally fate that you met that nice CM who gave you something special. At one point, just meeting you in person for the first time there I asked you what Attractions you liked to go on, and you told me that for you, it wasn't about that, it was just about the FEELING you got just being there :)
I was wondering where the gingerbread was (on the way home) Too excited to meet you two to remember at the time.
Looking forward to pics!
(Did your cats take over the blankets from you?) :p:
