Whazzup wrote:Yeah, Grumpy, that's pretty "normal" for the Adventurer's Club. When we were there that guy played a cowboy. It is one of the most unique attractions on Disney property. Always something weird and wacky going on in that club, although you wouldn't know it just to walk in the door and look around. Plan for at least an hour, and possibly several, if you stop in. Don't forget to order a Kungaloosh at the bar, and be careful where you sit. Oh, and don't worry about the talking heads on the wall. They don't bite. Usually. Unless they're hungry.
You know its something that we never really looked at, do you get advanced tickets? or just go?

Looks like our kind of place!! Hmm Almost afarid to ask what a Kungaloosh is!
Something to do with a marsupial? (Kunga...)

We loved it last Sept. We went before 9pm and didnt have to pay to get in. I just wanted to look at the props thru the door and the door ppl said go ahead in it is free until 9. OK..who am I to argue free fun? We had an absolute blast. We were there about 1.5 hours. Even Meghyn "got" some of the jokes (I think?) She has seen so many of the videos on youtube that it was familiar to her. The cast actually interacted with her quite often. A bit adult in the humor but nothing that the younger kiddos would/should get anyway. It is only one of 2 of the clubs on PI that allows kids in with parents.

PS...hey Grumpy...you will like Buelah.

You can buy a one club ticket or a multiclub deal. It is free to walk around the area and you only have to show a wrist band after 9 to get in.

Kungaloosh is the official drink and toast at the Adventurer's Club. If you're there long enough you'll be initiated into the club and even learn the club song.

You can buy tickets at Pleasure Island once you get there. As long as you're on PI, make sure to hit a show at the Comedy Club, which is right across the walkway from Adventurer's Club. You have to buy a multi-club admission, but it's worth it. We went there with Big Wallaby earlier this month and had a good time. I think there are discounts for AP holders but I can't remember for sure. You can check out Mousesavers.com or allearsnet.com to find out, or BW might know.

Forgot to mention for you DL folks, Pleasure Island is an entertainment complex at Downtown Disney, and there's no admission charge for DTD or PI itself, just certain clubs on PI charge admission.

Here are some of the few pics I actually have of that trip (thank you photobucket)
Inside the Library

The French Maid and Meghyn. She just loved her and vice versa. She actually broke character for a moment and told us she was from Lancaster. Who'da thunk?

Good point, the last time we were there, we went to DTD for our mandatory shopping spree, but skipped the PI, Are they normally open during the afternoon and evening?

I think the clubs start opening around 6 or so. The stores are open longer.

Here is Buelah singing her heart out.
