The cat was one of the hubby's mother's cats... unfortunately she too passed away sometime last year, and her name was Dulcinea... She was so shy...We called her the "Great Orange, Black and White Hunter" after she got to the fish...

Fish! Cats love them!!!!! We have cats that were not very interested in our betas, though they LOVED to watch our Canary, flying food! They were not allowed near the Canary. And actually we have two parrots still and the cats are afraid of them. The parrots are loud and bite really hard.

Several years ago one of em bit my lip when I went to kiss him and Ralphie rushed me to emergency and the doc wanted to throw 10 stitches in my lower lip. UH UH!!!!! NO needles! I made them use that skin glue and it healed just fine, hardly can see the scar. It was a big tear in my lip. He just grabbed on and would not let go and I do NOT kiss his beak anymore. This is Whistle, the birdie who bit me...

He doesn't drink beer, although whoever owned him before us taught him to say "I like beer"! :) He loves cheese though. Havarti is his favorite! :D: He does not smell like fritos, he smells like a typical Amazon. They have a distinctive scent to them. Are you feeding your cockatiel fritos, Wallaby? Cockatiels are VERY sweet birds. I would get another one. I handraised my cockatiel and she was so sweet. She died of cancer 5 yrs ago.

This is Carmen our other bird. He is a Dusky Lory. They are native to New Guinea, but he was bred here and is a pet. Lory's are known as the clown birds, they are very affectionate and very loud and shrill. They hurt your ears when they scream. he is cute and totally in love with Ralph. He tries to hump Ralph's feet! He will fly at me and try to bite me if he is out and I try to hug or even get near Ralph! Weird bird. He is also very messy as he lives on a nectar and fruit diet, no seed for this one, pure sugar which is why you cannot get a decent picture of him. He is always moving! Very beautiful though!!!

Your wife is correct! She knows her birds! Orion did NOT guard my beer mug. That is my Hot Chocolate mug and Orion was very good about not drinking it! Silly hobie!!!!!

You guys are making me miss my bird!! I had a Moluccan cockatoo for 17 years!! He used to set on my sholder while I would type on the computer, or read the paper!!

If I let him, he would st on my sholder when I was eating, and walk down my arm to grab the spoon and pull it to him, so he could taste what I was eating.

Yep, gotta love birds and their personalities.

My all time favorite is the Eclectus. At a pet shop in Astoria, OR, I got too close to the cage of one to get a look at him, so he climbed on my head. That's when I saw the sign: Do not touch the birds.

I walked over to the counter, said I was sorry, didn't mean to touch him, but he was the one who made contact. That's when they informed me it was actually for customer safety, and allowed me to keep him on my shoulder while I walked around the store.
