That is why GOD made moms! :D: EVERYONE listens to their mom, unless they want to eat soap or get smacked across the piehole. :hysteria:Canoe30x wrote:A few weeks ago, on the Railroad, we had a lawyer cause problems when a CM informed him that he needed to fold his stroller before getting on the train. The guy argued and asked why, and the CM explained that we are, in fact, required by law to have all strollers on the train folded. (unless they are in the wheelchair section) So this SG starts going off on the CM, saying that he was a lawyer, he's never heard of such a law, that he wasn't going to fold the stroller, and that he wanted to talk to a manager.
I was on the train behind that one, and we had to stop the train and wait for several minutes for the train ahead of us to leave the station. Thankfully the situation was resolved when the lawyer's mom told him to not worry about it, and just fold the stroller and get on the train, and the lawyer did, and the trains continued as usual.
Amazing...

You think this argument just might cover the segway suit as well, since Disney is already making *reasonble accomodation*? I am really interested in how that one will come out.BRWombat wrote:Hey, jerks are jerks no matter who they are. But granted, a lot of them seem to gravitate to the legal profession.
I was paid a wonderful complement talking to a man who sings in my chorus after a show Sunday. He found out I was an attorney and said, "You don't fit what I think of as a lawyer." I smiled and said, "Thank you!" :D:
Oh, and I'm not ADA expert, but I think JugglingFreak's right on target: the requirement is "reasonable accomodation" to those with disabilities, not additional privilege.
Er. I forgot about the multi-quote again...sowwy :(

Which half?susislicker wrote:YES! I knew there was another Buddhist on here! I am a half buddhist, if there is such a thing.
Larry Craig should have used the disabled stall too. :twisted:And even tho I am not (yet, and hope never) in a wheelchair, I use the disabled stall, because I cannot move around very well in those narrow ones.

But Senator Wide Stance should have used the big stall to avoid any toe tapping. Other than janitorial staff, has anyone ever picked up a piece of toilet paper from a restroom floor? That deserves a "Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww."susislicker wrote:Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww to the Larry Craig statement. Ick! Ick! Ick!![]()
Here's another restroom encounter.

That's funny! Senator Wide Stance? I would hate to see his ass. Wide load is more like it. Larry Craig. Picking up paper from a bathroom stall floor. Both deserve a big hurl if you ask me. :ewww:hobie16 wrote:But Senator Wide Stance should have used the big stall to avoid any toe tapping. Again, I'm no lawyer but the Segway was never made or marketed as a medical device. They already provide wheelchairs and ECV's for rental (and wheelchairs for free at Disney resorts on a "First come, first served basis, no guarantee).
I think Disney has this one, but common sense doesn't always win in court.

Also I think that slowly the courts are giving a little backlash on some lawsuits that are on the silly side! The Washington pants and cleaners for example!!

Re: SGs Trying to be Lawyers
The handicapped stall in the public restroom is handicap accessible, not reserved. I wouldnt use one if there was someone with an obvious handicap waiting to use it but if there are no handicap people waiting and its whats available I'm going to use it.
I'm pretty sure the restrooms in the restaurant is for a stand alone place as stated, the restaurants at Disneyland all have the same address, 1313 S Harbor Blvd, and there are restrooms near every restaurant in the park, often right outside.
Being in a wheelchair doesnt give you front line privalidges, it needs to be accessible but you shouldnt be treated different from any other guest.
Dont get me started on lawyers. There are some good ones out there but many are shiesters just looking for a reason to sue someone and unfortunatly Disney seems to have a target of them when it comes to this sort of thing.
Many people think the threat of a lawsuit is going to intimidate, I cant tell you how many times over the years I have had people tell me they are going to sue me or my company. Most of them are wrong to begin with and dont have a leg to stand on since they were in the wrong to begin with. I have also had many people tell me they "will have my job" but I'm still here.
Isnt working with the public fun?
