Kids give you G-KIDS (more fun,b/c you give them 'back to 'your' kids. Pay-Backs are 'sooo' much FUN)
Actually, we've decided to skip the kids and go straight to the grandkids. Once we work out the science, we'll let you all know. :p:

Just make sure you have the ball bearing, and you're good on that front. :D:

Yes, I know Liz and I would be better. We're not afraid to spank and teach consequences... In fact, I wish my parents had done that earlier on, because I had to learn some stuff on my own and it wasn't fun at all.

Had an incident with my brother who never quite grew up, and he's almost 22 now. He was fighting and complaining and doing all sorts of stuff while on vacation here with my parents, and they were at dinner with Liz while I was at work. So Liz gave him a quick dress down, and he was quiet the rest of the night. She did wonderfully at at, from what my parents said.

I'll get back to wanting kids again, and as I said, it comes in waves.

My wife and I do not have children, and we choose to spoil our nieces and nephews. :D:

Anyway, a story of good parenting and bad parenting:

Last year, my wife went to a craft show with our neighbor across the street. She has a 3 year old boy. My wife spent the entire time helping to watch the boy, because he would not listen to his mommy. Thank God that the show was both Saturday and Sunday, as my wife went back on Sunday alone and bought a few things for herself.

On our trip to WDW back in May, we stayed off site. The first morning we sighed and rolled our eyes at the group of middle schoolers that were in the breakfast buffet sit down area. However, we were pleasantly surprised at how friendly, nice, polite, and even helpful all of the kids were to us, to adults, and to themselves. In fact, we did not even know they were staying in the same hotel as us until we saw them every morning. On their last morning there, I went up to one of the chaperones and told her how nice it was to see well behaved kids while we (my wife and I) were on vacation. I also told her to please pass that on to the kids as well as the principal and anyone you deem it appropriate. :) (They were from Florida. I forget the town, but it was a few hours from WDW).

My father (frequently) put the same sentiment in slightly more pictureque words:

"Go when you can; when there's no can, you can't!"

I like! I'll have to remember that one.

Go before you go, or you'll wish you'd gone before you left.

Interesting song, semi-related. http://users.cis.net/sammy/grandpa.htm for the lyrics, let me know if you need to hear it, I can probably find a copy to send.

Yes! I've heard that song. It's been awhile, but now I remember it.

Very fun.

That is a funny song! :D:
I chose to not have kids and did not marry until I was 46. Ralph and I met when I was 41 and he was 31 and we decided we did not want children. I like being around kids that behave and are polite. Our next door neighbor has 3 and they are very cute. The oldest is 5 and we always get her presents from our Disney trips. She is such a great kid and her parents teach them all to be very polite and have manners and to behave. We have our furry kids, that is enough for us. I watch the families at the Parks and sometimes it makes my heart sing when I see a kid seeing something at Disney for the first time. It is just magic. Then along comes the Jackass family and makes me remember why I don't want them...Although Ralph and I would make great parents, we just never wanted to be mommy and daddy.

Same here. We have no children, but we do spoil the nieces and nephews. At some point, we will probably take one or two with us on a WDW trip. :)

My wife, and my MIL want to take my SILs oldest to WDW in a few years. They want to make it an "all girls trip." I said I would not miss a trip to WDW. My wife said that it would be a trip for Maggie and whatever she wants to do. I said fine, but that I would be able to explore a little bit myself. :)
