I was attending a conference in St. Louis. One of the meeting rooms in the hotel was being used by a service club for their annual awards ceremony. One of the speakers was Sammy.darph nader wrote:Sorry,but Sammy Davis Jr. passed away.
Another guy and I decided to stake out the hall and snag a picture. When Sammy went by he was being covered by a LARGE security guy so we had no chance to hit him up. As they moved down the hall I called out, "Hey, wasn't that Billy Crystal?!?" (For you youngsters, Billy did a killer Sammy impression on SNL.) Sammy turned around and started to laugh. We got our opening and picture.
