Rules of the Parks

Banning Heelys would be asking lizards to be banned from the parks. If they are skating full-tilt down the monorail ramp, then I will yell out a "Don't skate down the ramp!" Otherwise, just no point in confronting nearly every kid in the park. Plus, I haven't seen anything saying that they are banned, must not be big potatoes to Disney.

Description
Certain items are not permitted into the Theme Parks and Downtown Disney. This includes, but is not limited to:

Wagons, skateboards, scooters, inline skates, and shoes with built-in wheels

Any trailer like object that is pushed or towed by an ECV, wheelchair, or stroller

Two-wheeled or three-wheeled conveyances

Strollers larger than 36" x 52" (which mirrors the rental stroller sizes)

Suitcases, coolers, or backpacks with or without wheels larger than 24" length x 15" width x 18" height (which mirrors the large locker sizes)

Coolers required for medication may be stored in a locker or at Guest Relations

Weapons of any kind

Alcoholic beverages and any illegal substances

Folding chairs, except certain portable seats that can be used as mobility aids

Glass containers (excluding baby food jars and perfume bottles)

Pets are not allowed. Service animals are permitted.

At Disney's Animal Kingdom (for the safety of the wildlife), balloons, straws, and lids are not permitted

True,. but how many guests read the HUB? I have only been there a few times myself.

As many kids with them, there should be large signs everywhere.

Obviously The Hub is for CM's only, but announcements are made on the parking lot trams (of course, no one pays attention to them) and the guests are again told what is not allowed if the offending item gets caught at the screening tents.

All things considered, if there was signage at every access point you can bet very few people would bother reading. It's not that CM's don't want to enforce the guidelines, it's just not always possible.

As for myself, I would always use "I'm sorry but *** is not allowed here" If you started off with an "I'm sorry," the guests didn't seem to get so hostile.

Cool, never ridden the trams before (or the ferry for that matter :D ). If that's the case then, yah, they should know. Plus we have our awesome SGT bus drivers letting kids know. I'll probably look out for them more often. :twisted: :twisted: And a live monorail spiel when entering MK station. Instead of the typical "Please remember, There is no smoking at the Magic Kingdom monorail station." Instead, live spiel "Please remember, there is no heely use allowed at the Magic Kingdom monorail station and beyond."

I would leave that one up to security TBH. You might as well tell folks that they can't bring their right arms into the park. Just a guest complaint waiting to happen. Never a fun experience. Guilty guilty guilty! Never even asked for my side of the situation. Nothing like a CM enforcing the policies and then to be told they are being "overzealous."

That was always a primary concern of mine.

Now that my resort has gone to designated smoking areas, I'm all ready to do the same, except for a memo from management that we are not to enforce the smoking ban without a complaint from another guest. <sigh>

Now I have to go find a smilie that says "no spine".

Wow! Found that interesting that you are requested NOT to enforce the non-smoking policy at the resorts w/out a guest complaint....very interesting. My 1st time on property and Mom & hooffed it to the DSAs, saw lots just smoking as they walked around the property tho. Worst infraction mom & I did was light up about 20-30 ft away from the DSA as we walked towards it, but this was at 5am when nobody else was anywhere in sight. Never did it during the day when people were out & about.
