I've been dealing with the public for a long time and sometimes I feel like I've seen it all, then someone does something new and I know I havent. I think the one think you have to learn when you deal with the public is to be able to hold back your laughter in front of the customer since they will complain about that also. You have to have a sense of humor about the stupid things people do, getting angry with them will not do you any good, it will just get you in trouble. Watch them be stupid when you can, stop them before they seriously hurt themselves and make sure you dont get yourself killed stopping them from collecting this years Darwin Award.
Years ago when I first started driving towtrucks I was changing a tire for a young lady who had obviously ran into a curb. Happens all the time, no big deal, when I got done she said to me "thanks for not laughing at me for hitting a curb" I replied "I cant do that, its against company policy, I meet my other drivers for coffee later then we all laugh about it." She handed me $5.00 and left.
Thats why we all come here, to blow off a little steam and share war stories and laugh our asses off at the stupid things people do. I used to go to a tow related board that was about the same, I'm burned out on towing and Disney is much more interesting anyway.

And dont forget, we all do stupid things once in a while, my divorce is proof of that.
