I hope I'm not annoying. I love riding in the front, I try to every time I ride. The CMs all seem very chatty when I ask them about being a pilot, and which trains are being upgraded and all. (Monorail red has it's new touchscreen, but there are problems with propulsion now.)

Then again, I've found wearing my CM lanyard makes all the CM more chatty and friendly, and sometimes very un-showlike.

When I ride up front, I usually ask the driver how long they've been in 'rails. I don't ask the question to be a SG, I ask because I'm genuinely curious. I've considered transferring to 'rails, but I kinda like my nice "attraction closes at sunset" schedule that I have at my current (and previous) location.

Most (non-participant) hourly CMs at the parks and resorts are represented by various unions. Which union depends on your role.

For example, when I was a railroad conductor I was represented by the Hotel Emloyees and Restaurant Employees Union (UNITE/HERE). Now that I work at a hotel, I'm in the Transportation and Communications Workers Union (TCA). (Just another example of "Disney Logic" at work.)

Note that you will be "represented" by a union whether you're a member or not. Please return the favor, join your union, and take part. We can't do it without you!

(the previous 6 make up what is called the Service Trades Council, which is kinda an umbrella group that does "bulk" negotiations ... 1 contract to cover all 6 unions)

Who do they define as Vacation Planners?

Reason being, over at the DRC there is nothing Union related anywhere. I've been told that Twice now, they've tried to unionize the DRC, but it has failed both times.

ON TOPIC: I've riden up front, and I love the view. The times we have with my Guests, we just chit chat with each other, and the Driver. Personally, I would love to ride in cab in the back. A rearview of the landscape on the way to EPCOT.

Do you keep doing it after the monorail has left the station?

There is the important question. I remember doing that when I was 15 and a SG myself. Craziness.

Yeah, I've been known to speil too much. I just so happen to memorize all the speils and usually they slip out when I don't want them to. Case in point:
"Hello, and welcome to "it's a small world"! In order for you to fully experience tonights presentation, the lighting around the magic kingdo-oh crap!"
I was a bit rusty on my small world speil at the time though... And I had done Wishes for quite a few nights before this. So it's understandable, right ;)

It's one of the reasons I won't do a speiling attraction yet. I get too tripped up with other speils or my brain gets ahead of my mouth and funny combinations of words come out. Im getting better though...

To answer the question though, I don't usually take the monorail. And if I do, its often empty (or near empty)...I plan my days in the park very well. And to open another can o' worms, I'm usually on my cell with someone I'm meeting in the park.

Heh. I have quoted it out loud myself, but not at WDW... There I stay quiet and enjoy it, because for our family that door closing audio says "We're back at Disney" more than anything else!

Instead, it's become tradition for my boys and I to say it when we first pile in the shuttle to take us to the airport to fly to Florida. Gets the trip off to a great start!
