Re: Heelys
Heelys shareholders must be monitoring this forum. The stock was off $2.20 and an additional $.33 in after hours trading today.

Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

Re: Heelys
I can top that one. 17 yr old kid steals a HUGE front loader here in town. He's knocking over phone-poles,slamming into sheriff cars. Almost running down officers. The sheriffs are shooting everthing in site. Tires, radiator, hydraulic lines to stop this yahoo. This 'chase' goes on for quite some time. Finally after about 45 mins they shoot into the cab of the tractor, This 'gentleman' is now paralized for the rest of his life. His parents 'tried' to sue the Pima County Sheriffs Dept for 'cruellity' to their son. Well guess what, they (the parents) got hosed. The county 'and' the construction are sueing the parents for damages their 'little angle' did.BirdMom wrote:Well, that's like that dumb-a** kid who was 12/13, stole an SUV, then tried to run over the cops who were trying to arrest him. They shot him, and it's "police brutality" all over the place, but WTF was that kid doing stealing the vehicle in the first place, and why didn't he just surrender? Ya think he had any personal responsibility for the fact that he got shot and killed??? Naw, let's just sue the L.A.P.D.
No, let's just buy our kids shoe skates that they are too clueless to use appropriately and if they get hurt we'll sue the nearest deep-pocket target we can find.

Re: Heelys
I saw a little teaser for the evening news that made me laugh. There was video of "bad gifts" you shouldn't give your kids, and sure enough, someone was doing a demo of a guy on Heelys who purposely fell down in front of a moving bus to demonstrate their negative qualities.
It was GREAT! Now hopefully, a lot of people will have seen that and think twice before buying the silly things!

Ehh...IMO, most people could care less about "the most dangerous toys." They run the same spiel every year, but how many people actually pay attention ?BirdMom wrote:I saw a little teaser for the evening news that made me laugh. Now, if they bought their kid something, and their kid almost died while using it or playing with it, they might not let their little angel continue to play with it/use it. *shrugs
