What was said (where I work).
"Sorry folks, but the only way you can have a dog in the store,is if you carry them the whole time. I'd hate to have you buy a sofa if you're dog had an accident on it"
What the customer (and salesperson) heard.
"We don't want your business,AND your dog is UGLY. I don't care if you ARE RICH". :D:

What was said: "LAST CALL!!!"
What was heard: "I've got nothing better to do than wait on you odiferous, pugilistic alcoholics all night, so saunter up any time between now and tomorrow morning and expect me to serve you...it's not like the cop standing in the doorway will take our liquor license or anything!"

"Feel free to continue to sit on the ropes and when they break, I will laugh hard and then ask if you're okay."
Oh man nothing, I mena NOTHING pisses me off more then to be in line and some brat swinging on the ropes near where I am standing. I liek the wait until they are sitting on or they ar swinign withtheir feet off the ground and I grab the rope and push down real hard making it putt the part they are on up and they FLY off.
Even my pet peve about talking during attractions falls second to this.
What was said:
"Please incert your ticket into the slot and place your index finger and middle figer on the reader." (before they changed)
What was heard:
"Please incert your ticket and then try to walk throught the turn style and bang your hips ad look a tme like I locked it on purpose."
What was said:
"Please take small children by the hand as you exit the monorail."
What was heard:
"Please let your children run free bumping into other people and trying to look under the monorail."

What you said:
Our last show will start exactly at park closing and you must be in line at that time.
What they heard:
You can still make our last show even when you arrive five minutes after the park closes and we will let you in.

Mansion has this kind've thing every 10 seconds or so.
What you said:
"Two or three per buggy."
What they heard:
"Shove every member of your 13 person party into one buggy. Don't worry, we'll stop the ride if you don't all get in in time."

What has been said so often by CMs yet never heard;
"Main Street Stores close at 1 a.m." Summers & high count
What most guests hear;
"Main Street Stores stay open for us to take our time & shop on the way out. The Emporium doesn't close until we finish shopping & want to leave."

WHAT THE GUEST SAID:
"I just had surgery. I can't wait outside for my family or I'll dehydrate and pass out."
WHAT I REPLIED:
"Ma'am, you are aware that the Magic Kingdom is an outdoor park, right? Odds are that you'll be spending rather more than four minutes at a time outside. If you are medically unable to wait outside for any significant length of time, I strongly suggest you spend your time with us in one of our climate-controlled shops or restaurants while your family stands in line for our attractions."
WHAT THE GUEST HEARD:
"You shouldn't have come here."
At least, that's what they told my manager. Swear to God.

What I said: Your child needs to have their seatbelt on to ride the carrousel.
What was heard: You don't have to put the seatbelt on if it's too much of a hassle.
What is replied (by SG): Nah, their fine. They don't need it.
What was enforced (by CM): No, its for saftey reasons. If they want to ride the carrousel, then they MUST wear their seatbelt for the entire durration of the carrousel. If not, I will have to ask you to please exit the carrousel.
These things arent "suggestions," they are rules. Not an option. If their feet don't reach the stirrups, they need, not "might want if not too bothered by" a seatbelt. Just like height requirements.

What they heard is the truth.

I probably would've said it. (But then, I doubt I'd last too long as a CM.)
