Stupid Guest Tricks

I say get rid of FastPass altogether.

It would eat up the crowds and clear the walkways and if you really think about it, make the wait times go a lot shorter since you don't have to hold for FastPass Guests.

Last summer when Space re-opened without FastPass, the wait times were a maximum 45 minutes on the weekends. With Fastpass, the line has been 60, 70, even 90 minutes long!

Then, in the evenings people give birth to kittens when they learn that there aren't anymore FastPasses to give out because they've all been given out for the day and complain that their only other option is to wait in a 90 minute line. Then they say they were ripped-off because they paid to use FastPass, blah blah.

I had one guy say Disneyland was "communist" because he wasn't able to get a FastPass and he felt like a second class citizen because of it. Then he said it wasn't fair that some people get to go through a shorter line and he had to wait. Later on in the day, I saw a STORES Cast Member give him a switch pass -probably becasue she was tired of dealing with his ass- and I never saw him with a child! But that's a whole other issue!

Anyway, in my opinion, FastPass creates SO many more problems and I honestly think that attractions Cast Members will be happier if they were all removed! I know that's a strong statment to make. Everybody goes in the same way and comes out the same way.

Period.

I hear that they are installing FastPasses on the Finding Nemo Submarine ride! Because there is SO much room in that area for more congestion and all (sarcasm).

There were some attractions that used to have fast pass, but was taken out because they really don't need them, such as, Pirates, mansion, Pooh, and Star Tours! They already took the fast passes for Pirates. They switched the fast pass machines for Pooh into Splash. They are not using the fast pass machines at Mansion. Right now, they are in the process of taking the fast pass machines out of Star Tours and turning it into a extended queue.

Fast passes are slowly dieing off until they don't need it anymore!

They're supposed to be slowing getting rid of Fastpass. I believe that the plan is to have fastpass just for newer rides for the first couple of years and then get rid of it. Who knows, maybe they'll get rid of fastpass altogether.

God, I hope they get rid of it! I don't care how long it takes but please Disneyland get rid of it!!!

I heard about the Star Tours removal and I was happy they removed Pirates and Pooh and all those small rides that DON'T NEED FASTPASS!

Some of you have to look at it from a guests point of view because many of them do not want to wait hours for a ride. Some rides like Space Mountain, Splash Mountain have consistent lines of over 30 minutes, even on slower days.

I am a guest, and I do not like fastpass. It definitley can make a big difference for the standby line, especially on Soarin', Test Track and RRC. I have noticed that it has the biggest impact on things with preshows.

Getting rid of the Fast Passes may stop one headache of the stress in general, but start a whole new one when the guests start bitching because none of the rides have Fast Pass.

after all the stupid things they say, ask, and complain about now, is one more complaint really going to change things?

As much as I have groaned about fastpasses while working for Disney, I cannot agree they should remove the system from the parks! On the contrary, I'd like to see the system expanded. At DLP, there are fastpasses avaliable for Space Mountain, Indiana Jones and the temple of peril (Backwards!), Peter Pan's Flight, Big Thunder Mountain and Star Tours. All of them show a significantly higher attendance throughout the day when the fastpass machines are up and running. Instead of extreme standby lines being the only alternative, many guests can now actually ride all the rides they want at least once in a day and leave the park happier than they would otherwise.
Furthermore, while there are more people who move about the park while waiting for a "big" ride the smaller attractions get a better attendance, too. The Nautilus, Honey I shunk the Audience and Small World all got a higher throughput of people today than before neighbouring Space Mountain got the fastpass machines.
I think the system works. Despite the obvious problem of introducing a whole new concept in a park riddled with language barriers it is my humble opinion that at least DLP is a much better park with the system than without it.

That said, Fastpasses CAN be a headache for the CMs.
