Re: Adventures In Fruity Drink Land
I need some advice. Mrs. Hobie is taking Little Hobie to Nebraska in August to get her moved into the dorm and make sure she's all set for her grand college adventure. Mrs. Hobie wants to stop off at DL for a few days to break up the trip and have one last mother-daughter experience. She's trying to keep the costs down so she's looking at non-Disney hotels.
Has anyone had any experience with either the Anabella Hotel or the Red Lion Anaheim? Or, can anyone recommend something else? She's looking at paying around $100 a night for three nights.
Thanks in advance.

No experience with either as we always stay at the Candy Cane Inn (easy walking distance, a shuttle, AND Free Breakfast :) ) Calling ahead to find out rates for that time-or if they have a AAA package might be helpful .Website on-line might help, too. Keep us Updated! ;)hobie16 wrote:I need some advice. Thanks!!
New adventure. A 8.9 earthquake hit off the coast of Japan about 7:30 PM our time. We just got the alert to head for the hills as a tsunami is expected to hit at 2:59 AM. Luckily, we're up the hill.
I'm watching video of Japan now. They got hammered. :(

I've also heard good things about Candy Cane Inn. We drove by it and it's quite close to DL.DisneyMom wrote:No experience with either as we always stay at the Candy Cane Inn (easy walking distance, a shuttle, AND Free Breakfast :) ) Calling ahead to find out rates for that time-or if they have a AAA package might be helpful .Website on-line might help, too. I've had a few reasons to speak with Candy Cane Front Desk & ask they hold items for a guest. Their front desk staff has always been more then helpful & honesty has given me much faith in them. I've gone in late night/very early a m & always been met with a smile, willing yes, even stationary. Their shuttles are always @ the park for their guests.Whazzup wrote:I've also heard good things about Candy Cane Inn. We drove by it and it's quite close to DL.

Re: Adventures In Fruity Drink Land
Based on DisneyMom's glowing recommendation Mrs. Hobie will be staying at the Candy Cane Inn.
Her only question is, will they put a candy cane on the pillow every evening? She's asking because she's getting tired of waking up with chocolate smeared all over the side of her face.

DM, let's both ask. Bet they will. Begging may be more effective. See what can be done hobie. ;)hobie16 wrote:Based on DisneyMom's glowing recommendation Mrs. Hobie will be staying at the Candy Cane Inn.

They don't put any on your pillow, but there is a HUGE basket of them at the front desk-I always grab a few on the way to the Park ;) She can bring you a few home if you don't mind a change from chocolate. :p:Main Streeter wrote:DM, let's both ask. Candy Cane Inn is also very close to The Gardenwalk that has several great restaurants, and right next to two convenience stores. Sometimes there is a little Anaheim Wildlife hanging out, but we've never had a problem-My guess is that the Police watch this area fairly close due to Visitors walking down Harbor Blvd. at all hours.
So Happy that they will be coming to Cali-PM me if I can help with any DLR travel tips :)
