Thank you all. Nebraska is suppose to have the forth best program in the nation. There were 25 slots open so I guess she's pretty good. She's been working with a large animal vet on the island and has already done some surgeries. I've got a feeling the hands on/in experience helped.
Her teacher told my wife that the pre vet program almost guarantees her getting into vet school as she'll already have four years of focused education. The kids who major in biology and other sciences are at a disadvantage when applying to vet school.
Nebraska will also customize their program to the vet school the student selects. Sounds like a pretty good program.
We would have preferred that she go to UC Davis but what do we know. I've already told her that if you select Nebraska you're staying at Nebraska. Maybe the crappy weather will keep her focused on her studies. Besides, I've already made an investment in the school.

It looks like an almost 24 hour trip to get there from here. Maui - LAX - Denver - Lincoln. Surprisingly, there are no Greyhound buses involved.
She's going to the school in March for a campus visit. The weather is suppose to be the absolute worst that time of year. We'll see what happens.
