Funny Nametags
Re: Funny Nametags
Okay, I looked it up--Dung means bravery, Dong is winter, the others I'll look up.

I see Greg in there, and maybe a Corey...is it for someone with multiple personalities?

I'd wear that just to see people rubbing their eyes and thinking it was time to get glasses.disneyaddict wrote:

It is a special tag used to confuse SGs.
SG: I want your name NOW.
CM(points to tag): Here, let me show you.
SG: Ethel, does that say Gregory?
Ethel: Sigh, yes dear.
SG: Gregory you are going to get fired.
SG storms of toward Safari ride while looking for City Hall on Main Street to Report CM.
Lead: Sorry I was late getting here, what is up.
CM: The guest was trying to use a pawn ticket as a fast pass.
Lead: OK then see you later um...
CM shows tag.
Lead: Carlos.

Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.

Re: Funny Nametags
Long Duck Dong--Long=Dragon; Duc (no k on end)=moral, good; Dong=winter. Now the other name, Shi Ting, was a bit troublesome; Shi isn't spelled like that on the site, the closest I could get was Zhi, which it probably is instead of Shi. Zhi= wisdom, healing; Ting=slim, graceful.
I'm sure there are some American names that would raise eyebrows in other countries, simply by the way they sound. Randy is a name for a man, short for Randall, but Down Under it means someone's who's, um, highly promiscuous. Just an example.

It's Corey,
One year I went shopping at an outlet store near DTD. There was a bunch of blocks on the shirt. It was blurry too. My friend's daughter told me to look at the mirror. It read: The lack of having sex causes poor eye sight. I wanted to go back to get some, but ran out of time. ;)

Heh... My last name is Randall, and having two "first" names is always an adventure. At least one teacher at every school I attended seemed to think my name was "Randy," so I learned to answer to it. I knew of that definiition of "randy," but hadn't heard the Aussie take on it.felinefan wrote:I'm sure there are some American names that would raise eyebrows in other countries, simply by the way they sound. Since we're talking name meanings, Randall (and its many variant spellings) goes back to the Old English "Randwulf," a combination of "rand," meaning a shield, and "wulf," wolf. My first name, Bradley, is from "broad lee," (broad meadow). My middle name Neal is from the Irish for champion. For those of you who care.
And now that I've revealed my full name online, stand by for my home address, SSN, date of birth and mother's maiden name!

Re: Funny Nametags
On this topic, I was logging into CDS yesterday, when I noticed that it showed my Middle Name rather than my First Name. It was a tad odd, but it could have been worse, so I just go on my merry way.
Moving on, I find out a Lead has been looking for me with my Middle name, thinking I was late - somehow, all the Company records have switched over to my Middle name being my preferred name, meaning that people are running around trying to find someone with a [glendalais's-middle-name] nametag and are passing by me multiple times
.
Guess it's off to get a new nametag...(I actually like my Middle name better than my first name, so it all works out in the end, lol).
