You kids can get away with all that good stuff. My veins started creaking as soon as I read your post.

Cilantro does taste like soap, it's a scientific fact. It's just that some people respond negatively to that taste while others respond positively. That's overly simplifying it, but that's the jist. My parents, sibling, and I all hate, hate, hate cilantro - my husband loves it. Gag!

Great Article-but now the cilantro I love I will be evaluating for a soapy taste

Best to disguise it in a taco and wash it down with a Strawberry Margarita! ;)

Of the cruciferous veggies, I like cauliflower and broccoli, either raw or cooked. I can tolerate a limited amount of cabbage--soup and cole slaw mainly. They don't taste bitter it's just something else, not sure what you'd call it. Cilantro from what I've eaten in Mexican food tastes peppery to me.
When I was a kid, my older sister gave me a piece of paper and asked me to taste it. Then she asked me what it tasted like, besides paper. It just tasted like paper. I think a couple of my siblings said it tasted bitter--yeah, it was that test paper for a certain gene.

I'm with Ernie, I don't think Hobie exists either. I believe he's either a sentient computer program or a figment of our collective imagination. :p:
