The Kaanapali Beach Club is about a mile from my house. It's the former Embassy Suites.
If they like pizza, Pizza Paradiso in the shopping center across the street is pretty good. There's a good lunch deal every day at the
'aina Market in the Honua Kai timeshare. It's about a five minute walk down the beach. Duke's at Honua Kai looks good but the food and service is spotty.
If they like to walk and consume an occasional adult beverage, tell them to take the beach walk south to the Hyatt. Go to the pool side bar/restaurant, Umalu, and ask for Candy. She's there Sunday - Thursday 4:30 to closing. Candy does not pour tourist drinks. It's about two miles each direction but there's plenty of stuff to see including the occasional mama whale giving birth close to shore.

I have forwarded your suggestions to them. They just might check email once and a while!

Another good pizza place is in Kona, Kona Brewing Company. They use the leftover mash to make the pizza crust. Simply amazing.

This isn't really a Fruity Drink Land adventure. My daughter just got accepted into the pre veterinarian program at the University of...
NEBRASKA?!?!
It's a little bit different weather and landscape than Hawaii but that's where she wants to go. I'm thinking the clothing bill is gonna be huge.

CONGRATULATIONS to your daughter, Hobie! Isn't there a good pre-vet program somewhere on the west coast, or is she trying to move far, far from home?
I give her 10 months before she moves to a warmer climate. ;)

Hobie congrats to your daughter, getting accepted into pre-vet anywhere has to be tough.
Perhaps the University of Nebraska has a program devoted to a vet specialty she would like to focus on.
As for a good vet program on the west coast, the only one that comes to mind (and I know it's not the only one) is UC Davis.

Shiver, chills, horrid summer heat, nothing to do in Lincoln but Go Cornhuskers! I flew back to U of N. once for the Ok. game & homecoming. My Mom's idea. May have been a form of punishment.

Couldn't wait to see Santa Ana again.

Anyway hobie, CONGRATULATIONS to your daughter & her parents. I give you all great credit. :) I've been @ UCD for a few weeks with my dog. We are in research now. Their entire vet school is absolutely the finest. Cold Nebr. like weather though.

Nebraska? You can't even get to Nebraska from there can you? Must have wanted incentive to stay inside and study. Congrats anyway!
