Ok back on topic ;) I heard this one 5th hand so perhaps someone from the Studios can confirm...

Apparently one night in Fantasmic! the lift that brings mickey up (after sorcerer Mickey pops down) had something go wrong and Mickey's right pant leg got caught. The only way (I've been told) to e-stop those lifts is to lift your right leg, which Mickey couldnt do. So the lift pops up, breaks the CM's ankle, and Mickey flops flat on his face. Show goes dark, and a little kid turns to a F! guest control CM and asked "what happened?" to which the CM replied.....

Mickey Died.

... with a coordinator right behind him. He no longer works at WDW.

BAD quip! he shoulda said Mickey was hiding!

(but it IS funny...a little..for those of us with weird sense of humor....Okay only funny to me!)

That is a little bit funny, but probably not for the kid...
That reminds me of what my traditions leader said once.
"There IS only one Mickey Mouse, however he can be very fast. So if you are out there saying 'Oh there is one backstage with his head off and one who is smoking' some little kid might hear you. He doesn't really know what's going on except mickey has been decapitated and set on fire."

Telling a little kid that Mickey died? That's sick and disgusting. I like joking with the guests, but that's one I will never touch. I learned a lot from the story of kids being so surprised when a Mickey took his head off because he couldn't breathe and that alone was quite traumatic for the kids who saw it.

That idiot (not deserving of the Cast Member title) got what he deserved :mad:

I've heard about Mickey getting an ankle broken in Fantasmic. Didn't hear the part about the CM telling a kid that Mickey died, but I guess I can see it happening.

I seem to remember that the lifts have 2 actuator pedals (one for each foot), and you have to stay on both of them in order for the lift to work, but I could be mistaken on that.
