Niels Henrik David Bohr 7 October 1885 – 18 November 1962) was a Danish physicist who made foundational contributions to understanding atomic structure and quantum mechanics, for which he received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1922. He developed the model of the atom with the nucleus at the center and electrons in orbit around it, which he compared to the planets orbiting the sun.
Ah yes, that reminds me of the old physics joke:
Q: What kind of atoms are trees composed of?
A: Arbohrial atoms.
And yes, that's about as funny as physics jokes get (not counting Feynman).

So, you're saying physics jokes are all bohring? Maybe the funny ones just come in waves. Sorry, couldn't help stringing this along.
I will add another joke, though:
Q: Why are quantum physicists so poor at sex?
A: Because when they find the position, they can't find the momentum, and when they have the momentum, they can't find the position.

I know my behavior changes whenever I'm observed.

One atom said to another, "I think I just lost an electron."
"Are you sure?" replied the other.
"Yes," said the first. "I'm positive."

As one atom said to another, "I'm going to be in a laser. I'm so excited!"

A neutron walks into a bar; he asks the bartender, "How much for a beer?"
The bartender looks at him, and says, "For you, no charge."

On the now-defunct I Can Has Cheezburger site(cause of death: Suicide by extremely unpopular changes), :( there was Chemistry Cat, one of my favorite memes, who would make similar jokes. The comments on it included, "Now, CC, remember you were a kitten once yourself. Don't be mean to the little kitty." "CC has been grading midterm exams, no wonder he's so grumpy." :D:

Something obviously went wrong when I made that post; the reason CC was grouchy was there was a picture of a kitten on the keyboard of a laptop, and it was saying, "If not for sits, then why is it made of warm?" CC replies, "Because the usage of electricity by a device produces heat--stupid creature."
