ca. lower case 'c', as per circa, not upper case "C" as per California. It was sometime in or around the year 1989..

Ralph and Susi have said Hi to Ernie pre-Flag Retreat past couple times they've been out.....Sure he recognizes him by now, but Ernie has LOTS of fans! A lady we spoke with last time was actually there LAST time we were and had written a very detailed letter to Guest Services about not changing the ceremony. JUST got a response back yesterday from Guest Services, I'll post it on Disneyland Flag Retreat Facebook.

Main Streeter,

Mo and I chatted with Ernie this evening. We told him that he was doing a great job. He smiled and we gave him a hug. It made our night. :)

This was right before the evening parade.

So I heard. ;) Ernie does smile at all the girls who hug him. :) Hope you, Mo, & your aunts have written your letters of support to Entertainment Dept. for Ernie. Am sure your kind comments added to his night.

Mo said if they remove Ernie from his style of the flag retreat, she and the family will not go to the show. If we can't and Ernie, we will seriously be sad. :(
