Official SGT ADD thread

At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.
Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

I have never been to a Trader Joe's. These were just cheap ones from the Dollar Tree (whole $1) but good considering the price and quantity.GRUMPY PIRATE wrote:We like the butter cookies that we get from Solvang! The trader Joe ones are't that expensive, and the butter cookies are a large tin for, I think, about five dollars. Mmmmmm!! (actually we are starting to watch how much nibble food we get!!)vixen101485 wrote:I have never been to a Trader Joe's. Poison, Flammable, Inflammable
I was in the hobby shop at the mall a little while ago and I saw that on bottles of fuel, I believe for model planes.
My question is how can something be flammable and inflammable at the same time?

Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.

Re: Official SGT ADD thread
This is an issue my grandfather fought his entire professional career. Given that he was in charge of safety for a major west cost refiner, you'd think that a single memo would have been enough to prevent gasoline tankers from being marked Inflammable but he tagged about one a month to go get repainted before he'd let them out on the road. Even going to the paint shop and demanding all of the stencils failed to do the job.Shorty82 wrote:Poison, Flammable, Inflammable

He never actually got the authority to fire anyone over it, but every time somebody groused to his boss, he was backed to the hilt.
Today, 40 years after his death, this battle is still being waged, this time with dictionary editors chiming in on both sides.
Nobody reads anymore. <sigh>
