I bet the Segways were ridden halfway between the low and high tide areas where the sand is hard.
Did the exbus driver find another job somewhere he didn't have to drive?
I want Chocolate! HELP! Is there a cure?

Raining Furiously here last night, hope the slides don't happen. A few years ago, on the same day people were killed in the La Conchita slide, My son had to be rescued from his school bus by the swift water rescue team because the STUPID school bus driver ignored the "Road Closed" signs, went past and got stuck in the water and mud from a slide. Yup, he was fired.
He should have been charged. I know that a lot of departments are also charging the people the cost of the rescue, if they ignore warning signs. Did they charge him for that? And since he put other lives in danger, they should have put him in jail.

I'm not sure if he was charged for the rescue, but I called the Highway Patrol the next day to ask if he was driving impaired, they said no but that he was cited for violating traffic laws. They didn't want to talk about it much, probably because it involved the local school district. Since no one was hurt, I let it go (except getting documentation off the NBC website about the incident with pictures) I have been thru enough with the school district on previous occasions regarding my son's safety and am familiar with their refusal to take responsibilty when things go wrong.
I did hear later that illegal grading had caused the slide in the first place, so the business down the road was suing the business up the road, and that supposedly, the extra vehicles in the area/movement during the rescue had caused even more damage from the water that was flooding it.

Just an FYI, accident reports are available to interested parties. I would have your insurance company get a copy of it from the CHP. Simply because if your child need some medical attention for a condition IN THE FUTURE, you have a copy of the accident report that could show the cause.
You don't have to be driving impared to be chared with reckless driving.
Good Luck!!

A couple years ago we had some "New Agers" decide to hike up one of the mountains to do some yoga. They stopped at a stream, got buck naked, waded in to cool off and moved up to a field to yoga still sans clothes. Meanwhile, it started raining up the mountain, the creek filled up and washed all their clothes away. Because the creek rose so fast they were cut off so one called 911 on her cell phone. They sent the fire department helicopter to rescue them. The helicopter pilot took one look and went back for blankets.
Ooooooommmmm. Ooooooooommmmmm. My ass is freezing. Oooooooommmmmm.

Me and Pink Elephants eh? Well hey look there's Churchy and the Gingerbread men and women from the Holiday parade And popcorn!!
Also on a lot of the threads, each post topic or point of view varies widely, and to avoid a rambling and incohearent "mishmash' of posts blended into one, a poster may choose to address the individual topic or point of view, or opinion, seperately.
Then I have read some posts that ramble on with no logical connection to the topic...(like the ADD thread hehehe)
Oh Look, A baby wolf!!

Yes, I didn't think of that, that I could get a report as my son was involved, but thankfully, no consequences to my son or the other young student who had to be rescued.

Or they are using the new off road segways like the ones used in the Ft Wilderness Segway tours at WDW.

I am glad to hear that they are o.k., my point is that you can get a full copy, that includes any CVC violations noted, for yourself. and you can release that to anyone you deem necessary. I would get a copy and keep it in case your son starts having back pain, or other delayed symptoms. I have assisted at accidents scenes involving employees in company cars, and a LOT of time they don't start feeling any pain until the next day or a week later! Your medical insurance provider would want that if they had to treat him!
Even a small "fender bender" can tweak your back. And you can ask anyone that has back pain, it is a bugger to get rid of!!
